The Caps simply can't beat Pittsburgh because they just aren't as good. Their only recourse is thug hockey like we saw last night. Taking out the opposition's stud player is their only chance.
I don't think the hit was intentional, just a knee-jerk reflex action in defense of getting hit...they've played together before, no animosity was intended.
It's hockey
There was nothing either thuggish or dirty about the play that Crosby was hurt on & there really should not have even been a 5 minute major & the game DQ.................further evidenced by the fact that the league took no further action.
Hockey is a contact sport despite what some may think & sometimes awkward hits or plays happen.
