All this tikka talk makes me want to buy one...I like that fluted barrel lightweight they sell at Sportsmens warehouse. All it needs is the aluminum bolt shroud and I am happy.
What I don't understand is how the hell people are breaking the factory plastic shrouds or what difference it makes anyway. I mean really, the bolt shroud is a non stressed part that's only there for looks. The rifle will function without the damn thing.
My older Tikka 595 and 695 appear to have the same shrouds as the new T-3's and neither have so much as a crack after 11 years of use.
