The Cat's on one side of the plywood, you and the trapped foot are on the other side.

I released a small Bobcat once with a catch pole and dam near killed it getting it done so I made me a piece of plywood with a notch and a couple of handles on "my" side.
Haven't used it yet and hope I never have to. Messing with a live Bobcat no matter how small isn't for the faint of heart.
Can't imagine what a growed Lion's like. eek


last winter I helped a buddy release a fisher that got caught in one of his coyote sets using the notched plywood method. t worked quite well, and the fisher ran off through the woods upon being freed.

not sure I would want to try it on one of those big cats...
