Folks should take the time to meet fellow campfire members...
you can't always do it face to face, so meet them by looking up their profile...
After saying the passing of my Aunt was complete BS....
I decided to "MEET PADDLER" via his Profile...
The guy was last on way back in 2011... that is before his hero Obama got re elected....
but he graced us the last several days, to hurl insults and do things like telling a forum member his Aunt's Passing was BS... or maybe it was the reason for her passing that he didn't like as it didn't fit into his political agenda...
on another thread he seems to be highly in support of Planned ParentHood....to bad his mom didn't put him up for fetal experimentation.. but I digress...
with such a charismatic personality, one has to love one of his posts I saw... Facts matter, integrity matters.
Guess like most DemocRATS, he doesn't practice what he preaches....
So a hardy welcome back to one of our lost resident leftist trolls...
a web site can never have enough of those can we?
So Paddler, why don't you go find yourself a little happiness and pass your bunghole around the drunk tank and to the other boys in long term lock up...they'd appreciate ya a lot more than anyone here would....
I don't post here often because arguing with loonies isn't productive. It looks like my last posts here back in 2011 were about Palin. I guess I saved my best stuff for duckhunter.net, wherein I spoke out against Romney. I actually got banned from that site for posting political stuff on their "Political Action" page. Some chicksh*t mod from South Carolina could handle the truth. Pretty funny. If you want to read my predictions, you can do a search, you'll find I was correct. You'll note that responses to my posts were very similar to the drivel here.
I actually posted my thoughts on gun control here to get them on the record. I came up with the idea after Newtown. Remember where you heard this plan, it will help reduce senseless killings without impacting guns used for target shooting, hunting or home defense. Great stuff!
1. ya don't post here much because we're not worthy of your time...
2. ya got banned from another site, but it wasn't your fault, it was some chickenschitt guy, that was from some state you don't approve of because you think it is backwards and beneath you...
3. ya make predictions, and you're always correct.....( uh, sure ya are)
4. you're posting your thoughts on gun control, to get them "ON the Record"..... what "record" might that be?
5. You personally have a plan for the country, to eliminate all of this "senseless killing"......
ya know, you're a real modest guy.....
what were we thinking.... we really need a guy like you... both on the forum and in the White House....
do you come up with these bits of enlightenment, while washing windshields on street corners, while the light is red, for spending money?
I sure hope we haven't hurt Paddler's feelings....
I mean I don't want to be responsible for Paddler getting Paddled...
I've got enough stress to deal with having to attend a Pretend funeral clear across the country, for an Aunt who didn't pass away...and it wasn't the fault of the wonderful free medical attention available to one and all via Obama Care....

Except gun control doesn't work...Chicago and NYC are prime examples of that
It's also obvious that you have absolutely no experience dealing with traumatic events.
Your theory that someone with a revolver would not be able to harm as many people because they would have to reload more often is horseshicdt a person with with a single shot shotgun and a back pack full of birdshot would do just as much damage as someone with a Semi-auto rifle.
You want a real end to these trajedies, you start locking known nut jobs uo, permanently. You start holding these instulitutions criminally and civilly liable.
These institutions make policies that take sn individuals God given right to self defense away from them, yet they refuse toto assume responsibility to provide that defense.
That young vet that bum rushed the shooter, just think what he could have accomplished had he been armed.
Or maybe we should remember the shopping mall shooter from a couple years ago, you remember him don't you?...the one who turned his gun on himself when re realized there was a CCWer who had the drop on him
Or the numerous school shooters who were stopped by armed off ers working armed the school
As a former cop. I ALWAYS felt safer knowing there were armed citizens in my AO
the problem paddler is not the guns. The problem is the lack of regard for human life combined with a sense of entitlement. This 26 year old man had forum buddies egging him on, how in a civilized society do men encourage other men to destroy innocent lives? They do when their sense of the value of human life is low. A lack of morals, a lack of fathers in the traditional family, a lack of wholesome values as taught as taught in a Christian institution, a lack of a fear of God, sanctioned abortion i.e. the killing of human babies for profit. It was not just one man that killed those people, his internet buddies bear equal responsibility and guilt. If we rounded up every gun in the country and destroyed them the gangs in Chicago would be killing each other at near the same rate with knives like they used to do. A man with a Cold Steel Samurai would have, could have killed 9-10 just as easily, just as quickly.
People don't obey the laws we have now, how are more laws going to help? New laws are really not intended to help they are intended to hurt honest law abiding people. This guy uses the blood of the innocents to advance his agenda.

The ironic part about PADDLER is that while he supports the murder of innocent babies, he wants more gun control in order to stop murders by mass shootings. It seems a little backwards. But when you really think about it, it shows his hypocrisy. He's actually lying about wanting to stop mass shootings, like most socialists, the goal is to take away the freedoms of the conservative right as well as all of the other law abiding Americans. Another prominent strategic move in socialism, is to disarm the populous so that they can't fight back when the government begins to control the people past their tolerance. It's really textbook socialism and has nothing to do with protecting the people. It has more to do with protecting the government and the people who have power there.
Get ready guys, there's probably going to be the biggest push yet by the Obama administration to ban guns all together. This guy is going to go on a rampage to "transform America" before he leaves office in 15 months from now. We, as Americans, need to stand up for our freedoms, and when this schit comes along, we need to try as hard as we can to push back. The problem we have against us is that the Republicans in Congress are bunch of spineless bastords, but we need to do what we the people can in order to keep the freedoms we have left.

I watched his news conference and he knows he can't do squat about it.
At this stage I think he'd rather just play golf...which is good.

Did you Hillary's rant yesterday? She's trying to fire up her crowd. I don't think it will work. She was very shrill.
Your an azz hole plain and simple.. You stupid bastard you think more gun laws would have prevented Newtown? We have to put up with some of the most restrictive laws now because of another crazy! You azzholes always want .gov to save you! Pull your head out of your ass and list what laws in this state were broken? NONE! NADA! Go back to your hole worm and I hope Seafire gets a chance to thank you personally for your post..

You are absolutely correct that this guy was a disenfranchised loser, and was egged on by other losers. Called himself a beta male, whatever that is. The question is how to prevent these people from committing mass shootings. Of all the solutions that have been proposed, I think mine is the only one that can keep the weapons typically used by these shooters out of their hands without unduly burdening responsible gun owners. These guys don't have any skills, so if they had to operate a bolt, or singly load rounds, or even use a revolver with speedloaders, it would at least slow them down.
Trust me, I enjoy hunting, target shooting, and have more guns and money invested in them than most of you, by a long shot. I have one gun that would be impacted by my proposal. If anybody wants to buy my nice little Walther PPK (circa 1968 and pristine), let me know. Most responsible gun owners support reasonable gun control. If there is a better solution than my proposal, let's hear it. More guns are definitely not the answer.
If there is a better solution than my proposal, let's hear it. More guns are definitely not the answer.
You've been told the solution many times. It's the solution pointed to by observable facts about shootings, i.e., that where gun control is most restrictive, there are more shootings, and conversely, in those places where gun laws are most liberal (i.e., freedom-promoting), we find the fewest such instances. To anyone with more than half a brain, the solution is made clear by this observation.

Fair question. I visited here after the UCC shooting to see what the reaction would be. I figured guys here would say we need more guns. I also wanted to see if anybody would respond thoughtfully to my proposal. I wasn't optomistic. I was correct on both counts. I probably won't be around long, as I have little patience for the anger, closed mindedness and fear expressed here. What happened to you guys that made you this way? It's really weird.
Seems to me that you're the closed minded, angry, & fearful one. You have your proposal which limits constitutionally protected rights of free citizens. Criminals by their nature find a way to thwart the law (see the logic there??) which law abiding citizens follow. By definition this basic, logical dynamic results in the gov't disarming those who would be responsible with firearms and allowing criminals easy prey.
What sense does that make?
Why are you afraid of free law abiding citizens being allowed the right to protect themselves?

Typical, tired, trite, overused, recycled response. Oh, and untrue. Can't you do better? Maybe show a sense of humor? I'd ask if that's all you got, but already know the answer.
Oh, I got a new laptop a couple of years ago. I won't be bookmarking the 'fire.
Most responsible gun owners support reasonable gun control. If there is a better solution than my proposal, let's hear it. More guns are definitely not the answer.
If you think most gun owners support more gun control, you are just wrong.
It is not reasonable to compromise with the left, because they will never stop until the Second Amendment is a dead letter.
Today you are supporting the ban on semi-auto's and standard capacity magazines. Lets look at what else the left considers "reasonable" gun control.
In addition, some definition of "assault weapons" include pump and lever actions. Another proposed definition includes "any weapon, or it's derivative, designed or used for a military purpose. Well, there goes every Mauser every Remington 700, and every military surplus rifle in Civilian hands.
Banning all FMJ, hollow point, and lead ammo. This would basically leave us with no ammo, since I'm not aware of any mono bullets that do not include a hollow cavity to facilitate expansion. Even if there was something usable, they want to tax it to the point that it's not affordable.
All "sniper rifles", which is defined as any rifle with a free floated barrel. This would eliminate every rifle I hunt with, as well as my target rifles. They've also called for the elimination of all telescopic sites. That's right, we would be reduced to iron sites and maybe aimpoints.
They are trying to make our powder and primers unstable to eliminate handloading.
So, if all of this went into effect, what would I be left with.
2 single shot 22's, with no legal ammo. A few revolvers, with no legal ammo. 1 bolt action full choke .410 shotgun, with no legal ammo that wouldn't ruin the barrel.
And you claim the gun control agenda would not affect our capabilities for hunting and self defense?
^ This is the only thing we might agree on. So I won't argue with you, you're not worth the time. But it's mildly entertaining to see how bravely a dimwit coward can posture hiding behind the anonymous false identity of an internet troll.
When was the last time you told a man the idiocies you have written here face to face? My guess is NEVER, as you seem to still be able to type drivel from some basement in some Democrat nanny's propaganda center.
You seem out of sorts - is it time for nanny to burp you again? Or does she need to change your diaper?
Anyone that thinks that "guns" was the cause of the shooting, or any other shooting is an ignorant wretch.
These events and ones like them are very simply the excuse for emotional outbursts by liberals that take advantage of a bad situation to further their own morbid agendas.

Ok so what if everyone agreed to what you proposed treat all weapons that accept a magazine as class 3 weapons and we all get the $200 tax stamp per weapon.. What do you do when the next person goes bat [bleep] crazy what do you do next?? I'm not a fan of AR's but who am I who are you to tell person what they can and can't own... We all know cigarettes kill people everyday in America people die from lung cancer so why are cigarettes still legal??? so getting this tax stamp what you looking to prevent??
The "we've got to do something about the guns" response probably gives you a warm feeling for taking action (beta type action) and having proposed a solution to the problem. Given what you appear to be, it's no surprise that you'd be able to predict what other betas will want to do because they'll also want to feel like they're doing something.
But in reality it simply deflects the attention from the real problem which is the screwed up individuals permeating our society, because you don't really have a solution for them and your need to find a scapegoat.
I think the real tragedy is that so many males in our country think that whining for the government to "do something" is ever a solution to a problem. Would you characterize that as alpha behavior?
They look like fine shotguns. And good times. But if you and your democrat buddies get your way it goes bye bye. They will start at one class of guns and finish up with your shotguns.
If you really do hunt and shoot and enjoy it like you say you do, why the hell would you turn on the folks that enjoy the same?
As a group, we are the most scrutinized, regulated, smeared, falsely accused, life threatened, misconstrued community in this country. Everyday there is some democrat that cannot wait to end everything we cherish and they are held to no consequences at even a legal standpoint. So, do you even wonder why everybody is pissedoff at what you suggest?
I thought you had to be a troll who doesn't know anything about shooting or hunting, but I will retract that and replace it with this, and I am not attacking you when it comes to question...Are you the Judas of shooting sports or thoroughly confused? Whatever it is, I hope you figure it out.
I have to ask why did you wait 4 yrs later to post on here??

So you only log on when there's a mass shooting in order to promote your gun control ideas.
If that's not the definition of a Troll I don't know what is.
Setting around waiting for a mass killing....what a miserable life....no wonder you're an a-hole.
The "solution" is for the public to learn to stop being victims. Have the means available to bring instant violent death to those who wish to harm innocents.
Pardon me, fellas, I was at the gym running and lifting weights. Gotta stay in shape if you want to tow a canoe behind your bicycle for 5 1/2 miles so you can get to the less crowded units. Duck season opened today here in Utah, but the opener is too crowded. I went to REI and got a Yakima bike rack during their garage sale. Just $90 vs $250 new. Now I don't have to put my bike inside my Expedition. Nice!
Last year I killed a couple nice pintails out there. The GWT were coming from behind me and too fast, and I passed on the spoonies:

I just checked the FBI crime stats for weapon types used in murders. Unfortunately for your plan, in California, 29 were killed with rifles and 48 were killed with shotguns. In New York, 4 people were killed with rifles and 19 with shotguns. Michigan 16 with rifles and 23 with shotguns. Minnesota 0 with rifles, 4 with shotguns. Mississippi 3 with rifles, 8 with shotguns, Pennsylvania 20 with rifles and 22 with shotguns. Rhode Island 1 with a rifle, 14 with shotguns.
Good thing you are willing to be "responsible" and do the "right" thing. Don't worry, the government gives $200 each for long gun turned in.
I thought I ran you out of town for good, you sorry excuse for liberal cerebrial warrior. As your punishment, I sentence you to 10 hours of community service handing out flyers at the next president, Hilary Clinton's upcoming campaign speech.
Bright enough to be able to garner a VERY good picture / profile / current agenda driven dialogue identified / future potential threat, e.g. a goddam TRAITOR
traitor noun trai·tor \ˈtrā-tər\ : a person who is not loyal to his or her own country, friends, etc. : a person who betrays a country or group of people by helping or supporting an enemy
....you smarmy, fascistic, self aggrandizing little excuse for whatever the fug you think you are.
I think your nothing more than a plant, and a mole, myself,....and you bring to mind the kinda' creepy ass hole that will always have his "Dacha" and firmly believe that you deserve one.....right up to the point when the "commoners" drag your sorry naked carcass through the streets behind a cart, and spit on it, going by.
You said you hadn't bookmarked the Fire.
GOOD,....time for you to gtfo
you belong over at DU, or some other place like that.
Now see what you did, you got the pea brained Republicans posting pictures denigrating women. Someone will probably post one of their hero Donald Gump's trophy wife. Imagine what kind of ridiculous first "lady" she would make, considering the impecible standard Michelle has set?

And a nice little M2 in 20 gauge. This is a triple last year with 2 3/4" #4s:
Oh, this is an interesting little BL-4 in 20 gauge:
So we are supposed to be all impressed with that, and somehow that legitimizes all the stuff you are posting???
another leftist silver spoon in his mouth Democrat....
so If I am following this correctly, you think all guns should be banned, and the ones you own and their types ( say $45,000 Shotguns) should be exempt....
Where have we seen where liberals want to pass laws against the rest of the people on the street, but them and all their liberal friends are somehow exempt.... that's gotta be a new angle.....
Tell me you don't drive a Mercedes SUV, or maybe a Lexus one...
come here to try and act like one of the boys, while letting us know you are an elitist snob....that'll work real well...
Okay. Here's Piotti King I in 16 gauge, my nice grouse gun. New it's ~$45K:
do believe this rifle is a fair bit north of your shotgun, least i was told so by the fire member that loaned it to me not knowing me from a stranger....far from the only high dollar rifle floating around that weekend.....

I have a bunch of guns. That Benelli is sweet. In case you missed it, it wouldn't be subject to reclassification in my proposal because it has a fixed magazine. Please try to pay attention. Where did I lose you?
You lost a lot of people when your Benelli became a WMD
Ironically, you have now been show to be the hypocrite and fraud that you are.
I guess I lost you, too. You boys ain't too bright.
Per usual, they are always smarter than the rest of us...
Well Einstein.... I don't need to be a rocket scientist, to see the obvious.....and another obvious is you are just another leftist elitist, out to " change the world"....as long as it doesn't apply to your types.....
Yeah, I'll admit to not being too bright around guys like you... I mean I am handicapped, by only having a couple of degrees, with only 14 years or so of accumulated post high school education....
so I guess all this money you brag on, and your spendy rifles and shotguns, make you superior to the rest of us peasants...
that sound about right describing your perspective?
But seriously...where does that tongue end up in elkhunters pic?
Inquiring minds want to know.
I wonder if his wife Judy knows he's posting those...
as far as Traitors.. I'm old school....
there is only one thing to do with Traitors....
if THS ever HTF, I am sure one of the people Padidler has tried to impress in the past will give him just deserve.. Lets just call it a Traitor's Welcome Home present...
I'm sure all of his type have a surprise coming that they will never know it was...
I hope I never have the misfortune of meeting Paddled, he can kiss my Freedom Loving American Cock!
Just an FYI for you Seafire, we had better take these asswholes seriously as we haven't for a long time and they have been destroying this country and our ways right before our eyes.
No longer do I tolerate or ignore there cockroaches.

Use your imagination.
Yup,I promised no nude or pornographic pics in my photo bucket account.
He wants to sell his "bad" PPK, instead of just turning it in for destruction - typical of a 2-faced liberal.
Yup....no different than making an exception for semi auto shotguns because HE likes/uses em while giving us the Joe Biden speech about a SXS being all a guy needs..
Some big 80 IQ sumbitch will snatch him off that bicycle while he's merrily paddling along to yet another duck hunt and feed his carcass to a pack of dogs,...pass his shotguns around to the proletariat.
I'm sure Padiddler is one of those Liberal DemocRAT types that claims to be a gun owner and then is always making excuses for radical Muslims, killing tons of people "because they are angry at us" and then freaks out when there is a school shooting here within our borders.... and blames it on 'society' and 'guns' instead of the shooter being a screwball with a screw loose...
9 are sadly killed here and its a national tragedy ( which it is..)... but 30 to 100 get killed in a Mosque bombing or a market square... and he defends those that did it...
By the .gov's own definition a mass murder in Traverse City Michigan got no attention as poison was used instead of guns. Guess it doesn't fit the agenda.
we always come full circle back to the fact, that liberals want to disarm America, not for public safety, but to remove the one major impediment preventing govbernment from taking total control.

Don't they have total control already? Look at the idiotic Iran deal. Who among us thinks most of the populace wanted that one?
Pics taken with a Cannon Powershot G15 camera, kind of a cheap camera for a hi-roller such as yourself aint it?
I have a few camera systems, and, like guns, select the right tool for the job. That day, I towed my bike behind my bike for 5.5 miles, before launching my canoe to paddle a couple more. Light weight was the order of the day, hence the 20 gauge M2 and the Canon. Shooting birds in flight demands different gear, I'm sure you can get the EXIF data on these:
I use a different camera for landscape, one that doesn't have EXIF data. Guess what it is:
These hang in my home theater, which is freaking awesome. We love watching PBS down there.
Really? Why do you say that? Jealous? My home theater really is awesome. All the finish woodwork is solid mahogany, the raised panel wainscot, mantel, cabinets, door casings, crown mold, screen valance, and all was milled in my shop except the crown. The equipment is all first rate, B&W 800 Diamond Series 2's, Sony 55ES PJ, etc. PBS looks perfect down there.

I do have to admit those are awesome pics to say the least. To bad you're such an asswhole you might get somewhere. You're just going to die a typical......
I mean, if he isn't a HoMo....you know he's enjoying the attention because he hasn't been laid by the wife in years...
If you have to go to the internet to get attention, then life must be pretty pathetic...
especially choosing the troll route, to magnify your attention...
let him have his 15 seconds of Andy Warhol attention.... he'll flame out and then be back in another 4 or 5 years when some other tragedy happens nationally.. so he can try and taunt conservatives with leftist liberal BS....
tell us all how smart he is and how many expensive guns he has, and we need to pass more laws, that mythically don't apply to him or his elitist type...
or maybe he's here because he's grounded while his Prius is in the shop getting a new battery...and he's angry at the world...
Thanks, Paul. The BIF photos were taken with a Nikon D300, which is now fairly old. Still waiting for the replacement with better high ISO performance and resolution. I could use two more stops and a 24MP sensor.
The landscapes were taken with a Zone VI camera, which is a 4x5 mahogany view camera, and a Rodenstock 210mm lens. Really a cool setup, and still the most economical way to get high quality large size prints. I have the sheet film developed, then scan them on my Epson scanner. This produces jpeg files of 120MB to as much as 190MB or so. These prints on the screen wall of my home theater are 20x24, grain free and tack sharp:
The one over the mantel is from the view camera, but the one to the left is out of the g15, while the one on the right was shot on a grouse hunt with my old Canon S90. On the back wall there are a couple of oldies shot with my old Olympus OM-1 and K64.
Silly boy, or I should say silly GOY. I guess its true that the Heebs really are smarter than most Anglo rubes. Not smarter than me though.
Let me clue in the Goyim. When you want to understand what is happening, follow the money. Who benefits when "trolls" come here and stir the pot, increasing post counts and views? The OWNER of this little shindig?
We used to have a local DJ that played his choice of tunes, and did his own talk and comment/comedy. Always got the highest ratings. One of his routines was a "preacher" who called, always the same guy, who kept telling him he was going straight to hell. The DJ nicknamed him "cult leader". All in the audience with a higher than room temp IQ figured out this was a "coordinated effort" by no later than the 3rd call.
The guy who owns this joint, one Rick Binn (I wonder if it used to be Binnheim?), lists this site as his only endeavor, and his domicile as Los Angeles, CA. Why would an "outdoorsman" choose to live there, and run an online business that could be run from Jackson Hole? Maybe he has other business in LA to attend to.
LA is the world's epicenter for porn production, another "online" endeavor, jews control it all. Just about every idea and movement to bring down Western Civilization, if some secular jew didn't conceive it, he's writing hefty checks to support it. Soros and Bloomberg come to mind, but they are but the tip of the iceberg. They fund and control the political campaigns of both parties.
A perusal of this site shows a lot of "Goyim" are preoccupied with sports and firearms minutiae. Maybe some of you rubes should read more, and wake up and smell the coffee.
We've had a shortage of knowITall Buttheads showing up to be replacement trolls, for the previous ones that everyone put on ignore and they got tired of being ignored so they went elsewhere to be INternet knowITalls and Buttheads.....
Hope you enjoy your stay here.... I'm sure it won't last long per usual... unless you're like MR. Padidler... who just shows up every 4 or 5 years to be a dick for a week or two and then forgets we Surfs until the next time he gets bored....
it was kinda nice for his to show up pics of his "theatre" room with his pictures on the wall taken by all the cameras he owns, on top of his 45,000 Dollar Shotguns....trying to impress us all that he must be smarter than everyone here because he has a lot of expensive stuff....
I've been around people with a lot more wealth, and more public notoriety than he'll ever have, so I'm not overly impressed...but maybe someone else is...
anyway welcome to the Campfire and enjoy your week to 2 weeks journey slumming with we peons, surfs and peasants...
So a hardy campfire GFY to one of our newest guests...
hey Seafire, look in the bottom left corner of the pictures, looks like web take off pic from JAM home theater company. Also notice that the fire place has never seen a fire? Fraud maybe?
What I was thinking when the first wildlife shots showed. Find it hard to believe that someone who owns high dollar shotguns by at least 6, view cameras that have serfs do the darkroom work, drive a car that we see in the drive way and a lawn that looks like [bleep].
I have done work for two of the richest folks in Colorado, many who would like to be those persons and not a one would even think of hanging out here as a troll. Nor would they think that pulling a canoe on a home built bike trailer would be fun, even if they had the time.
AS far as details on cameras, theater systems etc, nomenclature is easily taken from the web.
Actually, this individual reeks of the scent of several of the high profile trolls that havae been here before.
JAM is my initials, doofus. What do you think I've been doing for the last four years, not wasting time here on the 'fire?
Here's my humble shop with the CD/DVD cabinet in progress:
Here's what it looks like installed:
It was my largest woodworking project ever, and very satisfying. I asked a cabinetmaker what he thought it would cost to hire out, he said ~$30K. I have $3K-$5K into the wood, most of which started out as 4/4 hit or miss raw lumber. It looks much better in person:
but I don't think you'll impress many folks here...
maybe except a few other troll wannabes...
money and possessions isn't the mark that makes a good person or one happy...nor impress anyone but the poorest and stupidest...
I've had the opportunity to meet folks, be in their homes, meet their families, who could easily buy you 10 times over...
and ya know what... they weren't out to impress the masses nor did they act like they were the smartest person in the room by trying to make everyone else feel inferior...
so congrats about all your wealth, your toys, your education whatever that may be.. hope it makes you happy....
Seafire-this guy's a phony and a fraud. Don't believe his BS for a minute. No one brags on themselves like this douchebag does. Rick needs to just pull the plug on this impostor and be done with it. He's no more a Dr. than I am.
This guy doesn't really impress me one way or the other...
People that feel they have to put up a front are usually doing so to try and hide something...
and the bigger front they put up, the bigger whatever they are trying to hide...
I've met plenty of doctors with this type of personality, however....
but on the flip side, I've met Doctors, say like our Own Doc Rocket.... now there is a professional and a gentleman...he doesn't spend his time trying to impress everyone else with what he has and we don't...
I believe Hatari is some sort of Doc, I think a Dentist... but you don't see them throwing their assets around the campfire to try and impress anyone...
Padidler is only impressing himself.....if he is impressing anyone else, it certainly isn't me...
actually he's not even worth the time to put on ignore...
he left here 4 or 5 years ago, before he returned... he'll leave again and we won't see him again...
regardless whether he has a few bucks in the bank for real or its all make believe.. its quite evident this guy has serious mental and social issues, and I bet emotional issues are tied in there to boot...
guy reeks of someone who severely needs a 12 step program...
but I don't think you'll impress many folks here...
maybe except a few other troll wannabes...

but your demeanor doesn't impress me on Iota...
Yep, life is good, and I've been truly blessed. Why are you all so angry? What happened to y'all?
Somebody started a thread about me because I support rational gun control, support Planned Parenthood, told the truth about Chainsaw Carly and called out Shrapnel for ground swatting grouse. You know, I brought a bit of reality, opinions shared by the majority of Americans to the campfire. My bad.
you shared opinions shared by the majority of people YOU know...not what the majority of Americans share....
Quit being a pompous ass, and you'd be welcome like any other decent guy would here...
its not the difference of opinions so much, its how you act like you are superior and smarter than everyone else here... when in reality you're showing what a dumbass you can be...

You're narcissism is showing, you saw only what you wanted to see and missed the rest of the post. Like I said your going to die a typical.
And a nice Beretta, 28/410 combo from Ron Shirk. Got a bunch of Berettas:
And a 12:
And a 20 gauge Gr VI:
And a nice little M2 in 20 gauge. This is a triple last year with 2 3/4" #4s:
Oh, this is an interesting little BL-4 in 20 gauge:
Very nice shotguns........ Bourgeoisie.
Politically, never trust an avid shotgunner (nor a fly fisherman).
While generalizations are hard to justify, I have noticed that both seem too reflective and convinced of their moral and intellectual superiority They tend to over-think;their supposedly superior intellect causing them to over-analyze issues (like gun control),and fall into the "trap" of creeping incrementalism which is the hallmark of Progressives. These enlightened individuals will bargain or vote away your rights in the name of perceived "solutions", which they clearly can't prove.
But they will lecture you about how "right" they are until you are sick of them.
Give them an inch and after they have seduced you into that, they will take a proverbial mile, like "lumping" guns into categories and denying access to same by certain people in society;and then another "category",and another class of people. Those with emotional "problems" today, post war vets tomorrow...the constant drip, drip, drip until nothing is left.
Incrementalism. I have grown cynical of listening to these people, and do not trust them as far as I could flip their $40,000 shotguns.
(Just like the pro abortion forces after Roe v Wade, where (IIRC) they justified first trimester abortions,.....and the "drip, drip, drip" began, until today,we are unceremoniously murdering new born infants with their heads stuck in the birth canal. Or tossing them into SS tubs and handling them with forceps because they can't be handled by hand....too humanizing.)
But those shotgunners...and fly fishermen....figure none of this will ever affect them. After all, they are "reasonable", enlightened people, their expensive shotguns are works of art,and of no interest to the state. After the "drip, drip, drip", they still get to keep and use them, atop a mountain of red tape and ammunition quotas.
Besides, who needs anything other than a $40,000 shotgun? Those "other guns",whether black, or semi-auto,or bolt action, are infernal machines of the masses. We'll take those away, restrict access.
No one commits mayhem with a H&H or Purdey, right? The working scrubs can't afford them, right?
OTOH, the riflemen tend to be barbarians, think in black and white, and are straight up in your face. I trust them....a lot more.....having been exposed a great deal, to both.

I don't know who they think they are fooling.
Now that was a good long post! I couldn't have agreed more on the second sentence if I had written it myself.
I have an uncle who is very pro-wolf, pro-buff, anti-hunting, wannabe environmentalist(has built a couple big earth fuucker houses....go figure..).
Total "all knowing" dumb-fuuck.
Little yappy Italian but is totally run by my aunt who is equally "all knowing". Seriously funny relationship.
Big surprise, he's a doctor(ER).
Now if I was injured and needed someone to save my life I would trust him in an instant.
Advice on anything else?
No way.
Speaking of sporting, shooting birds over decoys from a camo'd position isn't exactly challenging. But if someone wants to do it, have at it, I don't care.
I'm sure Paddler has wounded WAY more waterfowl than Shrapnel ever will shooting grouse in the head with a 357.

Real men throw rocks in the tank and cut loose when they get over hard ground... grin.
This idea that the majority can force their views on the minority is bogus and dangerous. I don't GAF what someone else supports or doesn't support. America is supposed to be free, a constitutional republic. I can't believe people put up with the fraud and the robbery and the tyranny that has become government at every level.
Paddler: you are free to believe what you will and support what you will. Don't force me to agree or pay for it. There is no such thing as lawful "common sense gun control". Those powers are prohibited the government according to the highest law of the land. If you like abortions, feel free to have and pay for as many as you like. What part of this stuff are you not understanding?
What part of how this nation is supposed to work are all of you not understanding? Democrats are not allowed to force their agenda upon Republicans, and force them to pay for it, and vice versa. The reason things keep getting worse in the US is that each side in this system feels justified in tyrannizing the other side, using the force of government to do so. The only winners are those of either party who are in power.
Reading comprehension is especially tough when you start out each day with someone pissing in your Wheaties I hear.
When one proclaims the means first, it tells me what I need to know.
If someone were to ask me 'Are you a flyfisherman' I would answer that I'm a fisherman. Just as I am a hunter.
Can't understand starting of with the 'means' in which you fish/hunt, other than to be just another self-righteous, pompous ass. We have enough of them.
Now that was a good long post! I couldn't have agreed more on the second sentence if I had written it myself.
Scott: Glad I made you happy....LOL!
SamO: In a deposition with a doctor involved in a business deal, he said that he was a very well educated man in a very narrow field of endeavor.....of many other things, he knew nothing. I never forgot that.
Smokepole: Anent the flies vs. spoons, etc....There's a difference between being versatile, open minded, and smart.....and looking down your nose at everyone else, because they do something in a different way.
The firearms classifications proposed here are nothing more than feel good, creeping incrementalism, and will not work. Except to deny law abiding people from accessing certain types of firearms..It underestimates the resourcefulness of a diabolical mind, which will simply find other means to commit mayhem (like pressure cookers),and don't adhere to legal boundaries . It's a shallow solution.

Agreed. My only point was, you can't judge a book by its cover.

When Piddler started in on his home theater lined with rich mahogany I about spewed my hand-ground and pressed Sumatran coffee on the screen... We need to lay off of Comrade Piddler - He's obviously a very big deal.
Lots of intolerance here, lots of profanity, but not a single original thought or shred of a sense of humor. Sorry to ruffle your feathers. Well, wait, that's not true. I came here just to see the response to the UCC shootings. It was entirely predictable and completely wrong.
You should trust a doctors judgement, even outside his field of expertise if he has knowledge and experience on the topic. Especially when his views reflect reality. I understand that letting go of your fear, even paranoia, is difficult for the 'fire regulars. Living in the right wing bubble doesn't work. When the real world passes you by, it leads to feelings of disenfranchisement, such feelings cause the behavior I'm seeing here. It doesn't have to be this way. The first step is disavowing your delusions, get some accurate information. Listen to NPR rather than Rush. I'll work on a 12 step program for y'all.
You were given accurate information, you're just too much of a loser to be able to refute it
You're probably one of those doctors that has the vanity plates, or MD indicative plates on your vehicle, so everyone can know just how special you are....used to love people like that. About the only people I stopped that were guaranteed to get several tickets

Here's an original thought - one that served this nation well for nigh on 225 years:
A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.
Great post and for reasons than the obvious. See Peddler can beat around the bush to your reasoning, however he can't argue against it. Calling him names and questioning his manhood is what he wants, feeds on and expects. He can poke back and try to appear superior to that kind of response. After all he is a Doctor and therefore superior. While most assuredly are not of like mind they have their share. They are told they are the "best and the brightest" and some take it more seriously than others.
Your reply however always will cause him to fumble and stutter.

There are true MDs and then there are the 'other' MDs who choose to be shills advocating extreme liberal causes, regardless how dishonest and unrealistic they are, as long as it benefits them materially.
For example most here feel our own DocRocket is quite trustworthy and as such respect his judgment and professional opinions.

Obama is a koolaid-drinking "progressive" ( = communist). He doesn't respond to logic, reason, or evidence. All he has or needs is faith in the "progressive" platform (a.k.a. manifesto), which holds such things as abortion-on-demand, unlimited entitlements for people who pay nothing to society's costs, eradication of the Church and the nuclear family, and of course, confiscation of all arms from the populace to be articles of faith which are not to be questioned.
It doesn't matter to him or to other "progressives" that research by ALL credible sources, including Harvard University and the CDC (which are themselves strongly "progressive" strongholds), demonstrate that gun control legislation does NOTHING to reduce crime. Evidence is irrelevant. Faith in the "progressive" platform is all that matters.
"Living in the Right Wing bubble" was based more on evolution than substantive choice, more empirical than spiritual, and certainly not from any state of paranoia......since I can spit twice and hit Harvard Square from here, grew up and was educated in the Boston area institutions.Listened to the Liberal professors.
Point being, the Progressive/Liberal culture here would make what you have in Utah look like a bunch of lightweights.
So I listened and watched as all their "ideas" and increased regulations failed miserably, solved no problems, until it dawned on me..."These people don't know what the hell they are doing". I learned to NEVER trust them. All they do is leave society in a state of disarray, spend endlessly as they look to government for all the solutions, and pontificate.
It hasn't changed. Your solutions are "old",have not worked, and never will. The evidence is no further away than the banning of automatic weapons, the murder rates in Chicago and many other metropolitan areas of this and other countries.
The solutions lie elsewhere. I'm not pretentious enough to lecture people on here that I have the answer, but I know....you don't.
As others have already said, Bob's right. There are a lot of avid shotgunners & fly fishermen that subscribe to "Gray's Sporting Journal". Over the years I've seen more anti NRA; anti prairie dog shooting, anti anything that's not fly fishing or shotgunning, letters to the editor with negative references to bubbas, rednecks, etc. than all the other outdoor magazines I've read combined.

Battue: I didn't mean to paint all Doctors with a broad brush LOL!I was merely responding to SamO's narrative. I met my new primary care physician the other day for routine checkup....a lovely, intelligent lady who was receptive and curious when I told her my primary recreational activities were hunting, shooting, and bass fishing. So I am not anti-doctor by any means. I have met a lot of great ones and respect their intelligence and professionalism.
I'll save the broad strokes for the fly fishermen and shotgunners ....of which I am "both". But like Scott said, I am first a hunter and fisherman. The tools of the trade are immaterial.
What I find interesting about the approach Paddler advocates ( and he is entitled to his opinion of course), is that he is setting the stage for his own extinction, whether he realizes it or not.
Bob, realize that was not your intent. Nor mine and we all know individuals of Peddlers mind set from all walks of life. However, Peddler feels that because he thinks he has expertise in an area outside of medicine also being an MD means we should value his opinion even more so than those who are not MD's.
Peddler: "You should trust a doctors judgement, even outside his field of expertise if he has knowledge and experience on the topic. Especially when his views reflect reality."
He brags on about his shotguns like a kid with his cat's eye marble collection. I know a few that could eaisly trump it in the trunk of the car. Would look at his mostly mid-level assembly, be assulted with his arrogance and quickly move on. Some of them working class fellows also.
Not sure if they flyfish. But if they did they would be fine people to spend the day with.
How is it that limiting the ability of law abiding citizens to protect themselves solves anything?
Are you afraid of allowing working class people access to the means to defend themselves?
If a man... Perhaps a high class man of taste such as yourself... Were to snap one day like a cane flyrod... And take his fancy 5-figure clay-buster into a shopping mall and kill some people... Maybe by stalking on his belly like yer hero John Kerry (who served his country in Vietnam) does when deer hunting, getting up close and personal... Or just by peppering a crowd with 00 buck... Whatever... If that were to happen, would you happily lay down your weapons?
Just curious but we know you won't answer the question. Cuz the best you got is name calling.
You'll notice that nationwide polls indicate strong support for PP. Republicans do not, especially the hard right, misinformed ones like those here. The reality is that PP doesn't use tax dollars for abortions, nor do they sell fetal tissue for profit. If you cannot accept that, you may live in the bubble.
Gun control needs to happen. If you belong to the NRA, you may live in the bubble.
... Politically, never trust an avid shotgunner (nor a fly fisherman)...

Still too chicken shidt to try and debate my response huh
he is delusional and psychotic recognizes this in himself and recognizes the similarity between himself and these psychotics and is scared of his own personality. There is no point debating him. He is afraid of himself and what he could do, so he pushes gun control.
Hell of a way for PP to make money. Old dead Ann Richards daughter makes lots of money off selling dead aborted babies. For profit or not for profit. All you have to do is spend more to make a non-profit.
Oh, by the way do you give the babies you abort "a sporting chance" ?

Now I'm confused.
As am I. I appeared that Bob was lumping high dollar O/U shot gunners and fly fisherman into some sort of pompous liberal elite class and that is not the exclusive domain of the liberal "high class sportsman" by any means. Just take a look any thread in the Custom Rifle Forum peppered with smith's who will "commission" a rifle. These Guild Gun members will gladly drain you of $10-15 thousand dollar tuned up mod 70's that sport synthetic stocks, maybe some "custom bottom metal" (from Williams), reworked triggers, perhaps a custom Talley style scope mount that are plain Jane rifles at a glance. Guys like Echols, Simillion, Penrod and a few others have clients lined up for the functional master pieces. Opt for the wood stocked, rust blued versions and the prices go up rapidly.
A quick glance at Paddlers O/U's revealed mid grade Beretta's no where near the price of the high functioning mod 70's. AS far as fly fisherman are concerned, this only turned into a "high class" sport when the yuppies decided to join into this sport not such a long time ago. They turned FF into a rich man's sport pricing equipment outta reach of the average guy.
I used to FF and got out of it not because of the new complexion of the Joe Jefferson Club participants, but it just lost it's a appeal and equipment prices were adjusted to meet these new fat cats.
I just thought I'd bump PADDLER's phsyco analysis to the for front.
I actually posted my thoughts on gun control here to get them on the record. I came up with the idea after Newtown. Remember where you heard this plan, it will help reduce senseless killings without impacting guns used for target shooting, hunting or home defense. Great stuff! [/quote]
LOL, in your mind it's on record, what record are your referring to?. Question is, who is it in your mind you think you are? No need to publicly answer, because you already subconsciously did. For someone that's living such a happy life, why is there a need for you to come here a knowingly give your malcontent opinions. Wait you already answered that question as well. Your so transparent, seriously just give it up. BTW, this is the first time I've ever publicly responded to this type misguided illusions from a member here. You illusion of yourself is plainly seen by most on here. Enforce the thousands of laws we have and get rid of gun free zones, that's the best plan we can hope for. There will always be evil in this world and there'll always be stupidity and neither one will ever be fixed by any law or laws, period. Thanks for wasting my time.

That's funny. Exactly whose psychoanalysis are you posting?
I tend to enjoy discussions, and even arguments, with smart, honest, earnest folks having minds reasonably open. After the flow of this thread, Paddler seems to exhibit none of those qualities.
Instead, his posts present him as vain, empty of values and original thoughts, and compensating for inferior feelings and failures.
Who would even want a discussion with such a person?

You forgot to mention that he must have a 3" dick for him to feel the need to bring his boasting here. Or maybe he is just a f u c k i n g douchebag troll that feeds on negative feedback. Had his ass on ignore since he first posted his liberal gun control drivel.

Mine. I'm Doctor StoneCutter. I can see into the brains and mindset of most crazy liberals, socialists, and communists.
Didn't take long to see the article you posted is way short on "facts". #2 on the list wrongly states that gun ownership is down and since 2008 nothing could be further from the truth. Go peddle your papers elsewhere...

Fudd #2 sports an article from a communist rag and Fudd #1 shows pictures of a fireplace that has never had a log burned in it and we (the unwashed) are expected to hang on their every word...laffin'

That is a very astute observation.
I've found it to be typical of his type. This along with Bob's observation that they always consider themselves to be the smartest person in the room and can make up law that will outsmart the collective intelligence of an entire nation.

That fireplace will never have wood burned in it. Smoke wouldn't be good for all the high end gear, and since there are no windows I don't think it would meet code. It will have a gas log, my wife will be buying it. Besides, the house has four other fireplaces, so it's no big deal.
therefore in conclusion, say someone said he was a pedophile.... according to Padidlers standards, that person wouldn't have to provide any real proof and we all should accept whatever is said as gospel?
Remember this is a hypothetical question, but I am just trying to follow the logic Padidler is wanting us to follow...
eg: Facts aren't needed, and we should take someone's words at face value...
When some trust fund d bag comes on here and posts pics from high priced canned hunts and just has to Mention the cost of his firearms that is a big clue to me that you are not a sportsmen but some rich insecure loser with an irrational fear of firearms and a hatred for Middle class Americans.

I don't believe anything you say as you are a liberal mole stirring up sheit.
Okay. Here's Piotti King I in 16 gauge, my nice grouse gun. New it's ~$45K:
Here's my old RRL:
And a 16 gauge RBL;

Trust fund? Canned hunts? My dog isn't bleeding, and it's a she, not a he. You have no idea what you're talking about. Of course, like so many others here, it will not stop you from shooting your mouth off.
Anybody here want to suggest/argue that this nonsensical "opulence" length penis that this Paddler outfit's waving around isn't the purest form of CLASS WARFARE, ...
I can certainly admire the craftsmanship that goes into a Piotti or similar high grade gun. The arrogance to brag about what was paid for it? Not so much.

Do you really think he actually owns those? This guys just jerkin' our collective chains and having a good time doing it. DON'T FEED THE TROLLS!
You should trust a doctors judgement, even outside his field of expertise if he has knowledge and experience on the topic.
You really are full of yourself, aren't you. I would trust a doctor no more than anyone else. As a matter of fact, I know of a few instances within my immediate family when doctors couldn't even diagnose a medical condition. In on of those, a nurse pegged it where the doctor failed.
I agree with Bob and Steelhead on the fly-fishing observation.
It's just about the same as being a doctor. Being one means nothing in particular, but if you brag about being one, or think being one confers some special status, you're just a pompous ass.

Did any of you take notice that this man who from his own words is intelligent, wealthy, knowledgeable, outdoorsy sorta guy does not have a friend in the world to share his narcissistic wonderfulness with. All the wealth and prosperity he boasts of can't buy friendship or companionship, sadly he comes here to appease himself by showing us through his arrogance and seeming superiority, that he needs only an audience, and a small stage to present his sad little life's story.
the guy is a douche bag plain and simple. he'd get ass beat in a heart beat in normal circles, any friends he might have are just hanger on's or douches in their own right. I know a couple doctors and nether have his mentality. funny how one of those doctors i know values my advice and input over his other doctor friends.
I didn't pay anywhere the new asking price for the King I. I worked a cash and trade with Bill Moore before he passed, so I'm in it right. The Westlake I bought sight unseen from a very honest and honorable gentleman. It was everything he represented it to be, and it too is worth more today than what I paid. In fact, that deal included a little boxlock with an English name but looked to me to be of Spanish origin. It went to Moore along with another gun or two for the King I.
I'll be going up for grouse again today. It's cool, crisp and clear, one of those magical Autumn days. Perhaps I'll share more pictures.

She got fixed. Hope you did, too, before passing on your genetic code. We don't need more stupid.
Well, I'll be leaving soon. Gotta lace up my Kenetreks, grab my Filson vest, maybe take a 16 today. Let's see, shall it be a Piotti, the RBL or the Merkel? Feels like a Merkel day. As Rachel Maddow says, "Watch this space."
Guys, this tool is putting on a charade. Odds are he/she/it lives in New York, California, or DC. I have yet to ever meet anyone from Utah this arrogant and ignorant.
He can shoot them as he wishes with whatever he wishes. Makes little difference to the Grouse. Nor does it appear all that difficult-sitting or flying-for no doubt it is the "bush" league of Ruffed Grouse hunting. I'm betting the majority that his Dog points flutter up looking for a perch. So flying is not all that harder or challenging. (Those other game birds I know nothing of.)
Scenes from the big leagues of Ruffed Grouse shooting.
Paid full price of approx $900. What's amatter with me?
Definitely not at 9000+, but harder on the legs I'm thinking. Laffen
However, as predicted he has avoided any serious debate on the import subject with Bob. Reason being he is out of his league. Laffen big time..
Mr. Paddler, I take it you have been granted permission to take your lot of the Kings game? As I am sure you are very aware, we must take any, every all steps necessary and available to ensure the common subjects do not infringe upon our game here in His Majesties Kingdom.
The hat would make sense if it was raining or in the forecast. Either it is new or hasn't seen much of it. Could be wrong, but it looks mostly like a couch hat from here. Nice touch with the leather hat band.
Never understood the reverence for a stupid bird, and stupid they are.
I stalked up on are pair one day, shot one with are .22, the second walked over and bobbed it's head like it was saying" George get up you dummy" I I head shot that one too

Watched Citizen Kane last night. This guy has the look and attitude of Citizen Kane at the height of the character's arrogance, probably at about the same age. As I've watched the movie a couple times before, in Citizen Kane, the hole that a missing heart leaves, gets filled with stuff, which at the character's death, gets thrown into a large incinerator, like all the relationships he sullied. Good film. I'm grateful for all that I have, most importantly, friends and family, and wonderful hounds throughout my life. This guy can remind us by sharp contrast of what we have, not what we don't have.

The lack of a $40-something K shotgun in that situation makes it prole.

It varies in different parts of the country but basically Ruff Grouse are easy to hunt/shoot in a bar ditch or setting in a tree but not so easy when flushing in thick cover. They're actually the hardest upland bird I've hunted in the latter scenario. That's certainly not because they're smart though, it's because of the nano-second you have to shoot before they're behind something.
Blue or Spruce Grouse aren't much of a challenge either way. Least the ones I've hunted in a few different western states weren't.
If you notice.....Piddler seems to be shooting mostly Blue's which isn't much of a challenge no matter how much you pay for a scatter gun.
So, in essence in regards to ruffled grouse the "gentilemans" way, or "sporting way" is to let the dog do the hunting, otherwise your unwprthy...got it

I bring it back to the top, hoping others will read it again, too and appreciate it as I do.

You haven't hunted our blues, it appears. They are masters of flushing out the other side of the trees and wild when on the ground feeding.
Ask weaslesRus...he guides in NV blue grouse territory.

Good dogs just add to the fun and total experience. They also locate birds you wouldn't and find downed birds you might lose.
Having a dog to locate birds dropped in thick stuff or cripples that run are a responsible way to hunt, IMO.

Just like treeing Coons, running Mt Lions, etc the Dogs do a lot of the dirty work.
You guys are running true to form. You understand hurling lame insults makes you look bad, right?
luv2safari, what gun is that?
The grouse around here are tough if you're a sportsman. I could have shot a limit yesterday if I wanted to shoot them sitting. No thanks, I'll leave that to Shrapnel. Blues and ruffeds both are pretty good at keeping trees between you and them. Shots are quick through the trees, the blues flush wild because of the sparse cover in the pines. Sometimes I wonder if a dog helps or hurts you in those conditions. They definitely help finding downed birds, and they're amazing to watch. I wouldn't hunt without one, but they can be a double edged sword. My last bird yesterday flushed high out of a tree, heading downhill fast. I had to spin 180 degrees and hit a dropping target, which isn't easy gven my mediocre shooting skills. The first one was flushing from one tree to another, I had to run a few steps to my left to get a decent shot. I'd love a nice straightaway flushing from under my feet, but that's a rarity. Hit more trees than birds yesterday. I'll be hunting ducks tomorrow.
Yes, but the attitude presented here is that unless you use a dog, and wear tweed hats your not worthy of shooting a grouse..
I don't agree. I think they're easier to kill if you shoot them sitting, but much more difficult on the wing. Can't endorse ground swatting Doesn't matter what you wear or what you shoot, so long as you respect the resource and give them a sporting chance. The dog helps find downed birds, but I wouldn't criticize someone who hunts without one. I wear a hat and sunscreen to prevent skin cancer. Seen too much melanoma.

You really[I mean REALLY] can't be outdoors in a downpour, can you?
I haven't taken the time to read all of this thread. However, picking up on the grouse shooting topic, I peter to take them either on the ground, or out of the trees.
I have been shooting ruffed grouse for about 40 years, with and without a dog, on the wing and on the ground, with shotguns (single shots and pumps), with .22 rifles and revolvers, with an air rifle, a few with a .30.30, and a few with my bow. They are a food source for our family of five, including 4 hunters, and we have consumed as many as 70 in a good season.
We are so in tuned to harvesting them for eating, through both concerted hunting effort and opportunity, that one time my wife drove over to my office with a dead grouse in a bag for me to dress. She picked it up after it flew into one of our picture windows and died in the yard. One time I stopped after work at a spot right before sunset and shot five in a row out of a single tree. They were so intent on eating buds that when I got done picking them all up, there were still two feeding.
What I find most rewarding nowadays is enjoying long walks in remote woods on a nice fall day, and shooting a few birds to eat. In fact I don't try anymore to shoot them on the wing when they first flush. I have gotten good at hearing and spotting them on the ground before they flush, finding them in branches or in cover after a flush, and sneaking in for a clean head shot. I really like to hear a fall drummer, time him, pinpoint his location and finally shoot him right off his log. These are always nice full grown birds. After dispersal of broods, the same logs seem to hold new drummers year after year. I keep note of them.
I don't personally care for road hunting, or riding around for them on an ATV, but know guys that like do that, which is great for them. I am not above stopping along the way to a spot to pot one standing on the side of the road. Where I hunt, it is a challenge to get them to fly anyways, other than right up into a tree.
I really don't care for attitudes among those who look down on how others choose to harvest grouse. It is all good as long as respect for the animal is there, and the meat is utilized, as there is no better food for the table than a ruffed grouse around these parts.
You guys are running true to form. You understand hurling lame insults makes you look bad, right?

Dick,
I would love to take you up on that offer. It seems that we do have a lot in common as I work in a hospital ER myself. I would gladly fly my own airplane down to Salt Lame and hunt Blues with you.
I believe I could find a couple shotguns much more rare than those wop specials you are toting around. We could sashay about your favorite hunting spots and I could shoot all the grouse you miss and even whack a few on the ground for fun.
After a jolly old time in the field, we could share a few toddies before I bitch slapped you senseless...
one time i gave my ex wife a dozen Quill to cook me for dinner. she wasn't very happy when she opened the bag and they all flew up in her face..... probably one of the reasons she divorced me.
So, in essence in regards to ruffled grouse the "gentilemans" way, or "sporting way" is to let the dog do the hunting, otherwise your unwprthy...got it
I didn't say anything about sporting or gentlemanly. I was simply pointing out the degree of difficulty between shooting one on the road or in a tree as opposed to over a dog in thick cover. Kill em anyway you want to (I do) but don't put words in my mouth.
You haven't hunted our blues, it appears. They are masters of flushing out the other side of the trees and wild when on the ground feeding.
Ask weaslesRus...he guides in NV blue grouse territory.
I grew up in NV and hunted Blues all my life. Mostly in the Independence range up around the Blue Jacket. I've literally walked up close enough to more than one that I could have killed with my boot while Deer hunting. Ruffs are just as dumb. they just live in thicker cover so you have to be pretty quick... Cept when they're out graveling on the logging roads...that's when most of em get shot around here. Truth be told,,,, I get allot closer and have more opportunities on both species without a dog but since I love bird dogs I use em. Matter of fact...even though I love eating Grouse...if I didn't have a dog I doubt that I'd bother with em.

Im sorry to hear that.
My wife would laugh her azz off with butcher knife in hand and freeze wrap on the counter.

Agreed. Nothing like watching a good dog work. My GSP does better on chukar, though. The blues flush wild more often than not. I think I might kill more without the dog, but I wouldn't have as much fun. I shoot rabbits on the ground, but just because they don't have wings.

Did I throw you guys too many curves? Mission accomplished.

I don't remember inviting you down, but you're more than welcome to fly down. I'll pick you up at the airport, we can hunt whatever you like. Bring whatever gun you like. My dog had knee surgery and is still isn't 100%. The only rule is that you must not shoot a bird on the ground or out of a tree before I have the chance to flush it.
I have a most excellent supply of bourbon and scotch. You can even see my home theater in person. Bring your favorite music, I guarantee you've never heard it this good before.
Im glad your pooch got his needed knee surgery. When is your brain surgery scheduled? I hear surgeons are getting so good they can preform two procedures at once.
Imagine the money to be saved if your proctologist and your cranialogist work together performing simultaneous surgeries and the anesthesiologist bills you only once.
I really don't care for attitudes among those who look down on how others choose to harvest grouse. It is all good as long as respect for the animal is there, and the meat is utilized, as there is no better food for the table than a ruffed grouse around these parts.

Who said I used a shotgun? A buddy and I used to shoot jacks with centerfires, my 270 and his 280, but haven't done that in too long to remember. I rarely shoot at them anymore, and only with a .22 handgun, either a Ruger Mk II or my Anschutz Exemplar. Don't kill what I don't want to eat anymore. Don't even hunt cottontails much anymore, but when I do it's with my Kimber 82 with a Leupold scope. Head shots only so you don't waste meat.
So, Shrapnel, I see your inviting yourself down was just bravado. Too bad, I think 'fire members should meet each other.
Yep, moved here from California in 1982 after med school at UCLA, for my Family Practice residency at the U of U. Like it here, except the politics are weird.

Hitting jacks on the run isn't easy. I once killed one running at 257 paced off yards with my Kimber 22LR. His unlucky day. I killed 7 one day with the Ruger Mk II, at distances between 90 and 125 yards. They were sitting, though.
I'm going to write Chaffetz today with my gun control proposal. We'll see what kind of response I'll get.
I sent the following to Jason. Punctuation got lost in the translation:
Dear Representaive Chaffetz,
I wrote the following after Newtown:
On the Prevention of Mass Murders
The recent tragedy in Newtown, like most tragedies, was not the result of one event, but rather a series of failures. It was the result of previously undiagnosed mental illness in an individual who had access to advanced weaponry capable of sustained high rates of fire. Both mental illness and the weapons capable of such destruction were required to produce this tragic loss of life. Perhaps because this shooting resulted in the death of twenty young children and six educators, it seems the nation is more ready now than ever before to entertain measures to prevent similar occurrences in the future. One could argue that this new willingness to act is the result of the cumulative effects of so many similar events. It matters not which of these is causative, or even if other factors are responsible, the fact remains that we must act. Various ideas have been advanced; banning the weapons involved, banning high capacity magazines, posting armed security officers in our schools, training and arming our teachers, and a more comprehensive approach to mental illness. These ideas all have their proponents, and varying degrees of merit, depending on one’s experience and point of view. As a lifelong hunter and avid outdoorsman, it occurs to me that we may already have in place mechanisms to help prevent future disasters. We can, merely by reclassifying certain weapons, reduce access by mentally ill people to the weapons most often used in these shootings. The three most important characteristics of the weapons used in Newtown and other mass shootings are having a semiautomatic action, the capability to use detachable magazines, and the fact that they fire centerfire ammunition. Semiautomatic weapons allow rapid rates of fire, that is, they fire a bullet, eject the spent case, and load a fresh round with each pull of the trigger. Detachable magazines allow for rapid reloading of multiple rounds of ammunition in one motion. The capability of using centerfire ammunition increases the lethality of each round of ammunition, as rimfire ammunition is generally less powerful. We already have restrictions on the ownership of certain weapons, commonly called NFA firearms. These include fully automatic firearms, referred to by some as machine guns, short barreled rifles and shotguns, and destructive devices. Fully automatic weapons are generally used by the military; the civilian versions are manufactured as semiautomatic. It is interesting to note that studies done by the military have shown that fully automatic weapons are wasteful of ammunition, as the weapon will continue firing so long as the trigger is depressed. Emptying a magazine completely in a matter of seconds actually limits the effectiveness of these weapons in many combat situations. The solution to this problem was developing the ability to switch these arms into “Select Fire” or “Burst” mode. In this mode, the weapon will fire several rounds with each pull of the trigger, but won’t empty the entire clip. There is little practical difference in situations such as Newtown between weapons that fire three rounds versus those that fire only one each time the trigger is pulled. Both use centerfire ammunition, both require no more than pulling the trigger to fire a round and load another, and both accept detachable magazines of various capacities. Therefore, the most elegant solution to the gun control issue would be to reclassify these weapons, rifle, pistol or shotgun, as NFA firearms. They would be subject to increased restrictions for buying, owning and transferring. Just as with current Class 3 weapons, people could still buy them. Nothing would be banned, not magazines or the weapons themselves. Individuals would be required to register them with the ATF, undergo strict background checks, get a signature from local law enforcement, notify the ATF if they were to be taken across state lines, and pay a tax of $200 per item. This program could easily be applied to weapons currently in circulation. This solution would not impact guns typically used for sporting purposes, such as hunting and target shooting. Shotguns and rifles used in these ways have typically have fixed magazines. There are a few exceptions, but small design changes could be made that would exempt the guns in question. It would not impair the ability to defend one’s home, as the weapon most recommended for this task by experts is a shotgun. It also would not affect rimfire weapons, such as 22 caliber rifles or handguns. Reclassification of these guns should be the most acceptable approach to all sides in the debate over gun control. It would not threaten the Second Amendment, it merely compensates for the technologic advances since the days of the musket. It actually corrects a glaring oversight in our current weapon classification system. Manufacturers could still build these weapons, the public could still buy them, and it would do as well as any other proposal to keep them out of the wrong hands. This is not an immediate or comprehensive solution to the problem of mass murders, but it seems a logical component in a multifaceted approach to prevent another Newtown.
Since that writing, several similar shootings have occurred. I will admit that I have not supported or voted for you, and your recent conduct during the Planned Parenthood hearing was rude, condescending, and in the end, embarrassing for you. However, since you are in fact my representative, I would appreciate your thoughtful response to my ideas.

There is an advantage to having the enemy pissing inside the tent in that you know who they are.

Dear Dr.,
You best be ready when the democrats rise up and want to turn confiscate your $45,000 shotgun.
You never responded to the FACTS about the use of shotguns to commit murders, in many states more than all rifles including those with and without detachable mags. Now that you know the facts and are "responsible," please go turn it into the local Democratic Gestapo office.

I have a bunch of guns. That Benelli is sweet. In case you missed it, it wouldn't be subject to reclassification in my proposal because it has a fixed magazine. Please try to pay attention. Where did I lose you?
Very well done sir. Sadly, I am afraid the efficacy of your ideas will be lost on most here, and given the recent sophomoric antics of Congressman Chaffetz, likely him as well.

You aren't so smart. You are wrong from the very first paragraph. Everything else that follows is based on 2 false premises in your 1st paragraph.
#1 mental illness was not required. Scientists who study such things will tell you that there are lots of mass murders committed by sane people. You need look no further than Islamic homicide bombings to see this.
#2 "Advanced weaponry" isn't necessary either. This has been illustrated time and again throughout history. People did a lot of killing before powder was ever invented. If you want a more modern example, the Hutu slaughter of Tutsis in Rwanda was mostly carried out with machetes.
This shows your main problem - you think you are the smartest person in the room and you have an answer that the World can't work around to produce mayhem when it wants to. You may very well be the smartest guy in the room, but the collective intelligence of the population will defeat whatever statist "solutions" you come up with.
You are a living example of the hubris of the scribes and are equally as contemptible as the scribes.
Very well done sir. Sadly, I am afraid the efficacy of your ideas will be lost on most here, and given the recent sophomoric antics of Congressman Chaffetz, likely him as well.
What do you think of the details of my proposal, Eric? Any suggestions for improvements? I tried to analyze the relevant factors and act in a surgical way. It should help prevent these shootings without unduly impacting responsible gun owners.
At least Chaffetz is in receipt of my thoughts so it's now part of the public record. He's not a statesman, he's just another grandstanding politician. I'll probably get some form letter response by a staffer which will include a request for financial support. But, if he doesn't respond in a meaningful way, the blood from the next mass shooting will be on his hands just as it is on the NRA's.

No, it will be on people like you who have beaten down everyone into drooling cowards afraid to stand up, act like men and expect them to fight back.
Standing by for your thoughts on shotguns being used to commit murder more than rifles in many states.

What do you think of the details of my proposal, Eric? Any suggestions for improvements?
Since your key proposal seems to be centered around the re-classification of firearms, I'll ask this:
How do the records checks performed on an individual purchasing an NFA classified firearm differ from the checks performed on an individual that is purchasing a non-NFA classified firearm?
The proposal throws a bone to the 2A faction in that it does't ban the firearms in question, while placating the wailing of the Left to "do something....anything...even if it won't work".
Someone bent on committing a mass shooting neither knows nor cares that he/she is prohibited from buying/owning the firearm in question. They will not have read the law. If they are that far off the deep end they will acquire it illegally, steal it, borrow it....whatever.One way or another they will get their hands on it.
Of course they may have no prior history of mental illness, in which case, they would not be prohibited from owning it in the first place, assuming they can pass the gauntlet of red tape.
Barring all of this, they take one of those fixed magazine firearms, "suitable for sporting purposes" (whatever the hell that means but once again subject to arbitrary definition and interpretation by another bunch of bureaucrats) ,or steal a $40k shotgun from somewhere in Utah, and execute a bunch of people in an Oregon classroom because they are the only one in the room with a gun.
Then we are back to regulating $40k shotguns.
As to the letter, you ask Representative Chaffetz to seriously consider your proposal, then tell him that (a) you didn't vote for him; (b)that he's rude and condescending (an [bleep] basically) ,and beat up on him over Planned Parenthood.

I also went to the instacare and saw Dr Middleton. I informed him I have had bronchitis several times and had asthma. That I had very bad congestion for a few months and now had a cough for 2 weeks that wasnt going away. Also that my chest ached from all the coughing. He lectured me about the fact that I dont have pneumonia, even though I never mentioned that or even thought that. He then listened to my lungs for all of two seconds. He told me yeah its probably bronchitis again and gave me a prescription for naproxen saying it would help with my cough and chest pain. I did not know what this medicine was at the time, but since found out it is the equivalent of Midol! It has no clinical indications for treatment of cough and might even cause a cough! Needless to say it has not helped me at all! I feel like calling and complaining, but I am sure it wouldnt make a difference. This man should not be a doctor! Not only does he have no bedside manner (he is just plain rude), but he also doesnt seem to know what he is doing! Mark as Helpful | 3 people found this helpful Report Abuse

Friendly in a demeaning way that leaves you a little speechless. I was told I "just have bronchitis", and even though I can't breath and already have asthma, he would not prescribe an inhaler. I was asked if I have any medical conditions and when I said none that I know of. Dr said "well don't go looking for them". I have a $1,300 deductible, really have better places to blow money at than an instacare with a doctor who makes me feel like I'm ridiculous for coming in and assumes if I just drank more fluids & and tried to be as fit as him I would be fine. I really have no need to fake a burning chest, body aches and bad cough... and blow $200? For a visit that I left feeling worse about & still can't breath. This guy really should not be a doctor. He has no compassion and comes off judgmental. He would do better in the collections department demeaning people who don't pay their bills. I am normally not one to write bad reviews, but I actually had a pretty bad visit with him last year as well when I went in bec I was having a tough time breathing & thought it could be an allergic reaction. Will never go back to this location. Don't waste your money or your insurance carriers money. Mark as Helpful | 4 people found this helpful Report Abuse
Rude, demeaning, and maybe a perv. show details Apr 29th, 2013
I went to doctor Middleton for severe abdominal pains through Instacare. Just as Stu M. has stated, I was demeaned and made to feel VERY uncomfortable around this doctor. He behaved as if I was arguing against everything he said-though I wasnt saying a word! I was simply nodding and listening. I was not instructed to sit back up after he did his "pressing" over my abdomen to check for god-knows what whilst in a smock. He continued during the majority of my consultation to touch and grab my entire stomach area, even getting a bit too close to the breasts... I was so severely uncomfortable that I didnt know what to say or do so I eventually just sat up of my own accord. I was given a LECTURE on how I did not have any ulcers, and that the tests werent worth his time and was issued a prescription for irritable bowel syndrome. So far this medicine has only been a super-tum, making it easier to have taco bell. After he left (without any instruction on whether to return to reception or anything!) my husband, who had been sitting in said that he felt uncomfortable with his 'prodding.' So I know it wasnt just me! I was given no information about the prescription I was issued such as lifestyle changes etc. So I ended up calling before pick-up. When doing this I decided to inform the head nurse of my discomfort and ill-treatment and asked her to make the appropriate person aware of this. Im sure she did no such thing. Ill be seeing Doctor Moore for a second opinion. Mark as Helpful | 5 people found this helpful Report Abuse

Wow what a POS "doctor" taking advantage of vulnerable women. Stands to reason he's an obongo supporter. Without obongo care he'd likely be brought up on charges.
Even tho I started this thread....to bring this AHole to the attention of the rest of the campfire...
does this clown really deserve, 36 pages of attention and still counting?
he can be summed up in the old Hillbilly Adage " he's 10 pounds of dog schitt in a one pound bag.."

but hey, follow your 'conscience' boys...( did I spell that right?) one of those words the spelling always evades me.... maybe it wouldn't if I had an AWESOME home theatre...

Well, I didn't vote for him. He's my representative through gerrymandering. They chopped up Salt Lake City so as to ensure no Democrat stands a chance to get elected. The medical field is more than peppered with Docs just like Middleton here....
we had one locally, who had a reputation for lecturing patients and talking down to them...he did that to me, when I had to go to the clinic...
He shut up and left the room when I finally told him if he didn't STFU, and quit upsetting my wife, I was going to put him thru the wall....
I use to have to ask not to be stuck with him when I went to the Clinic...after that instance, I didn't have to ask anymore, because he told the management he didn't want to treat me any more when I came into the clinic... worked out for both of us..
but with enough complaints, this doctor was finally fired....
and went back home to Utah....
gee,, where is Middleton from Again??? maybe he and Hoffman were related....
The first time I had this local guy, he asked did I own firearms and hunt, and then asked if I was a veteran... then promptly tells me he doesn't like people who think they need to own guns and didn't like Military veterans either.. they are usually mentally unstable... First visit with the guy....

Since your key proposal seems to be centered around the re-classification of firearms, I'll ask this:
How do the records checks performed on an individual purchasing an NFA classified firearm differ from the checks performed on an individual that is purchasing a non-NFA classified firearm?
And I implied Paddler has no heart. More likely he has no soul. A truly pathetic representation of the medical profession. I wish I could be embarrassed for him. No, he made his bed, and wondering here if he drinks heavily in it, so he can sleep at night....
We should take a page out of the liberal playboy with Ole paddler here. See if he has a yelp page and absolutely bombard it with negative reports and no hope his life turns to shambles...suiting rewards for a traitorous coward

But some near guarranteed ways are drug and alcohol addiction, verified inappropriate sexual contact with a patient, revocation or suspension of medical license.... Some where in there was a very bad boy to get booted from this kind of corporate business.

You didn't indicate if either was acute or chronic. You didn't differentiate between young and old.
Funny most Docs will know the general answers, but the actual percentages? Most of them would fail your little test by giving their own observations vs yours. Yet you want the general population is spit them out.
As evidenced repeatedly, you have a communication problem. You don't have to prove to us you know your stuff. You have to communicate it to your patients in a manner they trust your decisions. Looks like in many examples you failed the test.
Who was the other alleged Md gun control freak from Oregon on here a few years ago? Perhaps we should set these two up in a date so they can spoon while looking longly at pictures of their "dear leader" Obama?

Mr paddler, or should I now address you as Dr. paddler? You seem to have really stepped in it and it is only getting deeper. Perhaps you might need taller boots? Or perhaps a pair of waders, Simms top of the line, at a minumum, for a gentleman such as yourself.
First a thought on the above.... Everyone's, I repeat everyone's, representative is a "representative through gerrymandering" It is the way our system is set up. Those in power get to draw the boundaries. They do not have to follow "logical" geographic boundaries, roads that divide populated areas, or anything that might make sense to those "represented". If my mind has not completely forgotten the details, or decided to change them to fit my desires, I believe the courts have spoken on this issue many times. Sometimes (a rather vague, nebulous word) the court will overturn some boundary or the other for a specific reason, many (vague again) times they will leave it as set by the ones in power. If and when your party comes back into power, they will gerrymander things to their benefit. If you don't like your present situation.... MOVE... you certainly have let us all know you probably have the wherewithall to accomplish that feat. (Perhaps you could join that TX professor? I hear there's bird shooting on the large island/small continent )
Next topic, the posted links to the reviews: Wow, these guys here are being really tough on you. After all, on the first link, one reviewer gave you 5 stars! Yippeee. Oh, wait that's right, the others (all of them I think, I repeat all of them) gave you 1 star. OOPs, not so good Doc. And they should at least respect you for working for an outfit that hires courteous staff, I saw a 4 star rating there. But as much as that counts, I don't want to be seen or advised by a "one star doctor"
A bit off the present subject, but maybe relevant to your "personality?" Well, no, now that I looked back up at the title of the thread, this might very well be pertinent.
Having read numerous posts by you, I get the impression that your belief system might lie "slightly " to the left of center. I might hazard a guess that you are somewhat concerned with "the environment", basing that guess on photos of a human powered watercraft, the fact that you approve of walking to take grouse as opposed to riding around the countryside on an ATV. If you are an "environmentalist" or conservationist answer me this:
How do you justify FIVE friggin' fireplaces?
"That fireplace will never have wood burned in it. Smoke wouldn't be good for all the high end gear, and since there are no windows I don't think it would meet code. It will have a gas log, my wife will be buying it. Besides, the house has four other fireplaces, so it's no big deal."
If you aren't an "environmentalist" and don't care about our resources, I DO. Each and every one of those fireplaces has an environmental cost. Construction materials must be mined, quarried, "harvested from a forest". Energy must be provided for those operations, energy dug from the ground, taken from the wind, sucked from a wellhead, or extracted from the power of dammed up water. All of the above requires alteration in some way, shape, or form of the "environment" some of us folks enjoy "recreating" on ( granted, sometimes in our non-sporting ways ). Closing of hunting areas due to mineral extraction, loss of native fish habitat due to dams, closing of previous hunting areas due to "wind farming" (AZ antelope hunting in a unit down there). Shall I list more? All so you can have FIVE friggin' fireplaces. One of which will never see a log? Dude, you remind me of some of the yahoos I know of that have huge 4WD truck with multiple shocks per giant wheel, off road tires, spare tire racks in the back, $2000 paint jobs and their truck will NEVER see a trail, much less even a graded gravel road. It's all for show (kinda like you?). Did I foget to mention it all comes at a cost to us peons? No, a smart person has figured that out already.
I wasn't going to bring up your "reasonable" proposal for eliminating events such as just occured in Oregon. But I'm about done so I might as well point out a view from my end.
You came to your present location from California. So did I (sorry guys, it happens to the best of us, at least dad got us out of NYC in '63!) so I know just little about that state. And I still have relatives there so I keep my eyes and ears open to the scene there. And I think I'm even still a member of the CA Rifle and Pistol Assoc, even tho I haven't even lived there since 1999. (just to help the poor folks there)
DO you honestly think that what you're proposing as reasonable will work? How are these working in CA?

Notice 1.6 & 1.14 especially. They contain some items you suggest. How are they working in the state you used to reside in?
Here's a little list showing how well they are and these are just at "schools"
April 2, 2012: Oakland, Oikos University. Seven were killed and three injured by 43-year-old One Goh, a former student at the largely Korean Christian campus.
Oct. 8, 2010: Carlsbad, Kelly Elementary School. Two girls were wounded when Brendan Liam O’Rourke, 43, opened fire on a playground.
March 22, 2001: El Cajon, Granite Hills High School. Student Jason Hoffman, 18, opened fire at an administrative office, wounding five.
March 5, 2001: Santee, Santana High School. Student Charles "Andy" Williams, 15, came out of a boys bathroom and began firing a revolver, killing two fellow students and wounding 13 others.
Jan. 17, 1989: Stockton, Cleveland Elementary School. Patrick Purdy, 26, repeatedly fired onto school grounds during recess, killing five children and wounding 29 more and one teacher. He then killed himself.
Aug. 15, 1996: San Diego, San Diego State University. Graduate student Frederick Martin Davidson, 36, shot three of his professors dead during his thesis defense.
May 1, 1992: Olivehurst, Lindhurst High School. A former student at the school, Eric Houston, 20, walked into a school building and shot one teacher and three students, killing them. He wounded 10 others during an hours-long standoff with police.
Jan. 29, 1979: San Carlos, Grover Cleveland Elementary School. Sixteen-year-old Brenda Spencer opened fired on campus, from her home across the street, killing two adults and wounding eight children.
July 12, 1976: Fullerton, California State University, Fullerton. School janitor Edward Allaway opened fire with a rifle in the library, killing seven and wounding two.
Get the point? Probably not.
I have tried to remain polite as possible in my replies to your posts. I have attempted to give you the benefit of the doubt as to you probably being an OK guy. My best approach now is to no longer reply. The other guys and wyogal (?) have made it clear, as have the reviews of your practice, what type of person you at least "appear" to be (walks like a duck?). I won't what type you really are as we haven't met or had personal dealings.
If I ever happen to run into you in the field, I will recognize you by the wonderful firearm you are no doubt carrying and I will say hello to your dog. I will try to ignore you most likely. The dog probably had no say so as to who he was "blessed" to live with so I have no reason not to say hello. I'm sure he gets the best of food though. You, however, have a choice as to how to act towards other.
Good day to you. One of our other members had a suggestion that might be fitting for you now,
CLOSE POST DO NOT POST

PS, sorry about the rant folks, he's kinda like some other guy that revently got my goat. I will continue to read this thread as it's getting hilarious as to how much abuse the good "doctor" (not for me) is willing to take.
Must however point out there is a world of difference between the English Cocker vs the American Cocker. The English for the most part have kept their hunting instincts and the line is improving with each passing year. Toby and Merlot are English. Hunters should avoid the American like a kid should avoid the paddle.
Will do.
Addition: Must admit he does have one pretty fine shotgun. Oooooo, that was difficult.
Agreed, I seem to remember we may have discussed your dog's English bloodlines on "our friend's" other thread about sportsmanlike conduct. Seems I remember a pic of that fine animal of yours in the snow.
I hope you have some great fall hunting down your way.
Geno
PS, I have heard that folks that are interested in working versions of some other popular breeds are going back to the "old countries" for dogs like various setters and spaniels. American bred Irish Setters have a reputation, and it isn't always a nice one for a hunter.
Good English Cocker Blood is not all that hard to find. Becoming ever more popular in the States and the Brits never did let it go away. Most of our good stock originates from there.
Their small size makes them easy to travel with and they are excellent in the home with family. They have the nick name of "pocket rockets" and it serves them well.

4) What percentage of patients who go to the doctor for sinusitis get an antibiotic, and why?
5) What percentage of azithromycin prescriptions are appropriate?
Class is now in session.
Not sure what you mean. I indicated "acute" for both conditions. Where did I lose you? Listen, if you're going to be obtuse you'll have to pay your copay.
I don't expect anybody to really know, just using the Socratic method of teaching. Carry on. More questions to come, lots to learn...
Can you tell me the difference between inheritance and polymorphism?
I'm not exactly sure, but whatever it means.....
Please, Please, Please tell me this has absolutely nothing to do with the chance that his psychopathy is heritable and it's been passed down to another generation.
Okay, here are a few questions for y'all. No googling, just answer off the top of your heads:
1) What percentage of acute bronchitis is bacterial?
2) What percentage of patients who go to the doctor get an antibiotic prescription for bronchitis, and why?
3) What percentage of acute sinusitis is bacterial vs viral?
4) What percentage of patients who go to the doctor for sinusitis get an antibiotic, and why?
5) What percentage of azithromycin prescriptions are appropriate?
Class is now in session.
More importantly, WGAF? Knowing any or all of those answers would add absolutely nothing to my life, so why would I waste my time learning it? I have to know plenty of stuff I don't really care about for my job, I'm in no hurry to learn boring chit about other peoples jobs. I assume if I ask you questions about the Canadian electrical code you'd have all the answers off the top of your head,no?

If you're like this at work, that would explain you're whopping 1.4 rating.
dassa, you have quite a good point there.
I think my patients, the fish I used to deal with when I was in the fish health "business" would have rated me pretty low if I had based diagnoses on "what percentage" of eroded fins is bacterial, parasitical, or mechanical?
I hope that's not what the "doc" was doing for those folks at the clinic.
The doc corrected me on my error and rightfully so. No problems on this end, admit and move on.
Now, not sure of where he practices presently, however my best friend is an MD and until he moved for better opportunity we spent more than a little time together. The guy is quick, smart and compassionate along with having an excellent reputation in internal medicine. Last time I saw him was in Fla at a shoot together. Driving back his phone rang and it was the owner of the range. One of his workers was having a diabetic and hypertensive episode-forgot their meds-and being out in the country called doc for advice. He asked some questions, then we went to the pharmacy, picked up what was needed, turned around and drove back. Made sure the patient was back on track and back to the motel we went. 3 hours out of his way total. The easy way out would have been to say call EMS
Charge? Zaharo. He could buy $40,000 shotguns-and has spent much more than that on them since I've known him-and it wouldn't dent his wallet. He even paid for the prescription out of his own pocket.
His patients love him, the nurses love him. Down to earth as they come.
He's what we call the real deal. More need to follow his example.
FMR.....You are one egomaniacal prick aren't you?
So many others have pegged various things about you, I don't need to repeat their efforts.
Your comment elevating doctors oh so high above all others tells me all I need to know about you.
I happen to have had the enlightening experience of taking many classes with premed and med students during my college years which reinforced the fact that doctors are far from infallible and the simple fact they have a MD behind their name, doesn't immediately impart a god-like level of wisdom.
Reading most all of this thread has left me with ONE MAIN thought. Man I feel sorry for your dog.
Your poor dog has no choice but to be stuck with your condescending ass. And as someone once said, dogs are good judges of character so that dog knows what a bad draw in life she got. Poor girl.

MD behind the name...
Reminds me of the story of Harry. He thought his name was too short so he had it legally changed to Harry Peter.
That was still too short in most people's eyes and he felt small and insignificant so he went back to school and got his medical degree.
But Harry Peter MD wasn't long enough yet, so he decided to go to school and become a dentist.
Then his name was Harry Peter MD DDS.
But that still wasn't long enough. He kept screwing around and eventually caught VD.
Then his name was Harry Peter MD DDS VD.
Well, the American Medical association heard about all this and took away his MD.
Harry Peter DDS VD.
Then the Dental Association heard about it and took away his DDS.
Harry Peter VD.
Then the VD took away his Harry Peter so the poor bastard ended up shorter than when he started.
Let that be a lesson to ya, paddler. You shouldn't be out pounding your pud in public. You ain't equipped for it. You ain't "up" to the task.
And at the end of the day you're gonna be even shorter then where you began.
Are there nekkid strippers in this thread? Please save me some time. I've seen it on here every day for like the last two weeks...month, whatever. I can't imagine a callout thread lasting this long unless Bob and betting is the topic. That or Larry and Bricktop.

No, aren't there enough of them already?
I've been enjoying your comments Mr. C.

No, it's programming terminology that nobody outside of the business GAF about. Just my way of showing the Dr that he doesn't know everything either.
My 10 yo daughter taught me something this morning - the difference between a cupcake and a muffin.
Dr Paddler would do well to understand that everyone has something to offer.
Definitely not, but I'd bet on him not making his decisions based solely on the percentages. He would look at the entire patient. He frequently gets the call when others are stumped.
The future of today's health care has him worked up to the point he is probably going to do something else.
I lost a good doctor for the same reason. He could explain everything medical so that a layman could understand it. He could also explain how the medicine worked in a way that you were confident in his expertise. But, not many really good people are cut out to be government employees. I imagine paddler will excel as a bureaucrat.

Ethan, wishes for a grand day today for you and yours,
No "kiddie porn" here, we apparently are staying on topic. Perhaps in respect to the OP, Mr. Seafire. This is a serious thread and we should concentrate our efforts on it remaining so. The "good doctor" (well, maybe not so good accrding to his reviews) deserves serious treatment
We seem to be discussing other important topics, Cermalube... .223 AI in the Miscellaneous forum. Please feel free to visit the ladies there,

Grim prospect.
...given the clearly possible evolution of his communist party's avocation for trampling rights, his loathing for the 2A, and scorn for the "proletariat,"...I can see him sitting in his dacha masturbating, while he casts is votes as a member of a death panel.
Dropping the azzwhole into a chum grinder isn't at ALL out of line,....chum just sits in it's pail, and STFU.
The funny part is that he's too stupid to know that. He thinks all of us are in the wrong and he is so much smarter and very superior to us. Can't see the forest for the trees.
Hey, I just came here to promote rational gun control in the face of multiple mass shootings. The I saw the tread on Fiorina, so had to fact check that one. Then I saw the thread by Shrap, that big-mouthed, ATV-riding, grouse-ground-swatting slob who likes to think he's a hunter. How could I not put in a word for sportsmanship? Then somebody raised the issue of patient satisfaction, which also raises the issue of evidence-based medicine. Answer the questions I posed, then look back on your own experiences. Have you been mistreated? Odds aren't good. If you doubt that, google "antibiotics for sinusitis in adults", or go to the CDC website on bronchitis.
Another set of questions:
1) How many of you are on Social Security?
2) How many of your are on Medicare or Medicaid?
3) How many are on disability?
4) How many of you hate big government?
I'll check back from time to time. Haven't heard from Chaffetz yet. Good article on him in today's Trib:

You still haven't learned. 1 No 2 No 3 No 4 Yes.
But if someone answers "Yes" to all of those questions, all it means is that they are smart enough to get free money.
ETA: I think it's interesting how you use your phony morality to justify the evil of govt entitlements. You make money from them. So, to sooth your guilty soul, you pretend like they are morally acceptable policies.
At least you could be honest with yourself and others to admit that in spite of the fact that govt entitlements are immoral, you take money from them for whatever reason.

Mine'd be similar to yours Barry,
However, at least in my case and that of many of the "regularly, lifelong" employed folks around here, the money collected from those progams isn't "free". Seems I've already paid nearly $3K in premiums this year for my "insurance" policy payable later in my life (assuming I can make it a few more years that is ) and it is an insurance policy (scam?):
"OASDI stands for old age, survivor and disability insurance, which is more commonly referred to as Social Security. To pay for these programs, the federal government imposes a tax on earned income that must be withheld by your employer. The OASDI deduction on your paycheck shows how much was withheld."
Now back to the "doctor" issue. I'm beggining to think the subject of this thread is considering running for office. He still hasn't answered 'flaves question, has not addressed issues and concerns posited by other members, and has annoying habit of asking a new set of questions every other post.
As I alluded to in my post regarding fish health, I wonder if the good doctor tested any of the "complainers" that rated him for the "actual" cause of their sinusitis or bronchitis, or did he just diagnose by "percentage? Did he "request" from his patient a sinus swab or perhaps a sputum sample to determine if their condition was bacterial and warranted appropriate measures? (would he know how to make such a request from a lowly patient?) Bacterial sampling, culture, isolation and identification is not that dificult, heck I did it many times and I'm just a fish dude, not a MD from UCLA. (I was "poor" and went to a CA State Univ, not a "prestigious" UC school. Yes there's a supposed difference to some folks)
From the tone of the comments on the rating sites one could almost hazard a guess that if a person showed up at the clinic, while he was working, with a case of the ongoing coughs they might be rudely told to "buck up, go home, listen to the doctor and drink some chicken soup. Percentages say what you have isn't bacterial" (we should after all listen to the doctors, even on topics they are not expert in, right)
Barry, I hope you at least are having a nice start to a weekend, and you are certainly correct in stating

Then they came for me—and there was no one left to speak for me.

The phrase "useful idiot" comes to mind when describing paddler and co-horts.
Useful..
Like the fish bait some have suggested?
I'm not willing to go that far.
From the looks of it he is "useful" in that he at least can take care of his dog and at least takes it to the woods for fun. "Sportsmanlike" fun of course.
And he's doing a good job at keeping us ammused and occupied like our "Cermalube friend".

PS, thanks for keeping "this thread" at least suitable for work. I get to look at it between busy times.
