I've been using a diamond steel to touch up fillet knives on the boat
I'm going to have to order a couple of flave's sharpeners to compare.
I have a few of the diamond steels, and keep one everywhere I need them. They work. They are easier on a blade than the carbide scrapers and work much, much better. Out on a commercial fishing boat I don't know as I would keep a 1/2 inch diameter 1000/1200 grit ceramic rod, but, in the kitchen I like them a lot.
I would never put one of my decent knives on one of the carbide scrapers
