And our pay was disrupted last time as well. That can be a huge factor for some of the junior enlisted folks with families.

No, not non-essential. In fact, we are working this weekend, the entire Squadron, regardless of any of this shutdown talk. Last time, we I was in Korea and we worked that weekend too!!
