Another thing I always hear is they're having to switch over to the summer blend. Seems like there would be more additives in the "winter blend" so it would seem that switching to the summer blend would be merely closing a friggin' valve! I think we're being jammed.
The switchover is supposed to be a pricey process, but I've never heard why. Maybe there's an oil man here that can explain.
Another thing that's supposed to make it more expensive is the "special" gas they make for California to meet their state standards. That drives up the price for everyone, so I've heard.
