Flave, does it take ahead shot to keep them from running off.? Or, does it take more than one shot?
I am pretty sure I wouldn't eat one after handling it!

Oh, it has been snowing here off and on all week!
It absolutely requires a head shot. I've found right behind the eye works best so far. The big ones often require two shots even with perfect placement. They have tons of fight in them.
I would love to find an orchard or something that needs them kilt and use a 22LR. I have no doubt that some good HP's in the shoulder region would knock them flat.
I don't know that eating any of them in volume would be a good idea around here. They spend a ton of time in those nasty ass canals.
