I cut muzzle bulge off to 17", beaded exterior rust off and reblued , slimmed forend and shortened stock fore and aft to proportion with barrel and to fit wife. A "carbine" 10 years before Ruger got around t it. I carry it a lot, with a 1 " slip on pad over the Deceleratr so it fits me better. First thing I killed with it was a ram at @ 330 yrds, 7 days later a moose at 70 yards or so. Mark that expense "paid"! It has taken more sheep, moose, caribou and bear since. 1.25 MOA with almost anything, sufficient to 400 yards (with that rifle/me combo). The only true cost of having a dog is its death.
