I don 't know, with the new powders available it must move it into a new category these days. The reason I no longer carry my 25/06 is because of the need for a longer barrel and I don't do that anymore. I suspect the .264 is the same. 22" is maximum for me . If I wanted a 6.5 , I would choose the .264 Win overall the others, we have killed bill elk side by side with the .270 and is equivalent, imo.Good chambering.
