To me, labeling a cartridge as obsolete simply means that the case design is no longer cutting edge. It doesn't mean that the chambering is going to disappear or stop working. Obviously if it did disappear or stop working, it would be called obsolete as well
Now I won't feel so out-of-place adding a fourth 7x57 to the cabinet.
