If you're considering recoil as a deciding factor between the two, you're probably better off going with something that has a smaller case capacity.
Some asked about the rifle earlier. The rifle, mag box length, and chamber/throat can play a part in the decision if you consider them. "Rough" (very rough) general rule, the shorter the mag box, the more favor to a bigger diameter bullet (on the same case).
