Yup.
I love my .280 Rem (not AI'd), but it suffers the same problem as the .280 AI when it comes to factory ammo - there is good ammo available but limited availability at the LGS (all of them) and usually more money than .30-06. (I handload so the cost of factory ammo is not an issue for me.)
Read my signature for my thoughts on the .30-06. Never really yearned for one but as fate would have it 5 different ones have been in my possession and three keepers are still in my safe.
