Like a civilized man. Suit and tie or slacks and sport jacket. I would not mow my lawn wearing what some folks wear to church. If you doubt we live in an uncivil society, just looks how folks dress!
I have to agree that while I’ve fallen prey to the lie that less formal equals more sincere myself at times I’ve come around to this way of thinking.
I ought to be, at the very least, as willing to look “nice” for worship of my God, as I am to do so to execute my vocational calling.
My pastor once observed that our modern culture, “works at its play, worships its work, and plays at its worship”.
Apt observation.
