Jesus didn't spend his time with the rich and the snazzy dressers. He walked among the poor, criminals, beggars, harlots.
The ‘religious’ people even criticized Him because he ate and drank “with sinners.” Jesus’ response including telling ‘the sinners’ to not follow the example of the ‘religious’ people for not only did they not practice what they preached, they placed unbearable religious demands on others and did nothing to help relieve their burdens...He said everything they did was for show.
