The Constitution, as we've known it, may be an obsolete, null & void document in a couple of years unless something dramatic happens to save it.

The people now running the country have no interest in keeping it alive.

That's not just idle speculation; I think it's surely with the realm of possible events. It's a constraint that the Left cannot live with.

There never was a "guarantee" implied or otherwise in the documents, only the fact that rights of man exist, government only existed on the premise of the consent of the governed, and that it is up to us to decide what we do with them, hence the famous comment of Ben Franklin "... a republic, if you can keep it."

The constitution and Bill of Rights are timeless documents and will always be, until the last breath of the last American citizen has passed from his or her lips, the guide post to strive for.
