I actually have respect for any school or teacher that would promote ANYTHING outdoors...
No extra pay and tons of liability is why many shy away. Liability being the reason school Admins and districts are much less supportive of these things than they were. All it takes is one serious incident and they tighten the rules.
Prob’ly as many or more teachers do that sort of thing through their church or scout troops with parents and kids they know well.
