Caught my first bass with a 5’ steel casting rod with a Pfluger level wind reel. 20# black Dacron line. The reel is on a glass rod these days and I still use it. Still catches fish. The lure that day was a Johnson Silver Spoon with a pork rind tail. It’s the big one to the left. Ballpark 1954 on the Kissimmee River.
