I'd like to get educated on owning one

been kicking around the idea of buying something and a vacation home that we could possibly rent out is an option. We waffle between that, buying a new home for us or staying put depending on our mood.

in the perfect world, I'd like to buy it, have a management company handle all of it and just pick out a few dates a year to use it. If I could make enough money to cover insurance, property taxes and maintenance, I'd probably be ok with it.

But I don't know where to begin on getting educated on how that works. I wouldn't expect an honest evaluation from a realtor but looking at a property that has documented rental history might be the easiest path to start.
