I have a S&W 649 38 special, with fixed top strap rear sight ( snubnose, 1 7/8" bbl) It. shoots about 1 inch to the left at 10 yards with my reload of a 148 grain home hardcast DEWC over 3.5 grains of Bullseye. Elevation is good.

I have been meaning to use a dressed rectangular file to the rear groove strap on the right side which will move POI to the right, and open up the rear notch for better visibility. The thin side of the file will be dressed, so it will not make the rear groove deeper.

File a little. Shoot a little to see the results. Wash, rinse, repeat, until dead on at 10 yards.
