It's been proven that many towns installed the cameras and at the same shortened the time of the yellow light. It's nothing more than a way to generate revenue.
I kind of doubt this. No professional traffic engineer would ever do this kind of stuff - it's a safety issue and it [bleep] with driver expectation.
