My youngest boy is turning 12 this January. He is pretty scrawny but has been hunting with one of the family youth model .243s. On his 12th I want him to have a rifle of his own. I have been trying to find a NIB Tikka stainless in 7-08 but not having much luck so I bought a .270 to have on hand if I can't round up a 7-08 by then.

Thanks to a member on here I have a stock on its way to cut down and save the original stock for when he grows. I have some lightweight bullets and piles of Trail Boss so I can get him shooting it right away until he is comfortable shooting loads appropriate for elk. My guess is he will be elk ready by the fall of 2023 just like his shrimpy older sister was last year.
