For those who have been praying and staying in touch;
Mark is in OR at this time. His surgeon decided he would leave in both of his "old" kidneys based on the new information from Mark's lab work late yesterday. Mark will get the new kidney today, and will be out of surgery in approximately 3 hours.
The surgeon wanted to reduce Mark's risk of complications and cited the fact he has had 3 stents in his heart, etc. He told Mark that the old kidneys could be removed in 6 months if they were causing any problems.
He is expected to feel like a new person with the new kidney. He will have much less fatigue, and will not have all the skin problems, sleep issues, etc. Not to mention losing water weight and having improved cognitive function.
Family and friends are here waiting for both Mark and his cousin, Vicky, to come out of surgery. We would appreciate any prayers at this time.
