It wouldn’t be a mistake, that’s for sure. Mine is a 223AI which is probably not worth it for a kid’s training/fun rifle. My daughter loves shooting it- which is the dream, right? She’s busting clays @ 500 in the pic. I enjoy the heck out of it too - pure fun. If you are building it consider going with bottom metal for AICS DBM’s. That’s a 10-rounder in the pic.
