I’m a fan of rimmed cartridges in single shots but no one chose a .30-30 for their only Ruger #1 either. A couple of other notable exclusions were the .308 Winchester, the 6.5 Creedmoor & the pistol calibers .357 & .44 Magnum. Some of the choices might reflect being limited to a single rifle as I picked my favorite most powerful caliber that would cover the most varied hunting situations.
