Owner wouldn’t take a Remington 742 Carbine in .308 as a trade in. Should’ve been born rich instead of so handsome. Always lusted for one. I’ve owned a bunch of lightweight short barreled stalking rifles. Still have a Ruger 77 tanger RSI in .308 and a 1984 push feed Winchester M 70 Carbine in 30/06. We lived on one income all our 42 years of marriage. It was important for our kids to have a stay at home mom. My wife not only raised our 3 sons, but their friends as well. We didn’t have extras but were comfortable and lived within our means. Son did have a CZ 550 in 7 X 57 which he handloaded for. Great old round that kills better than it should. Wisdom comes with age; hopefully. Lot of guns and cars wish I had back.
