Sure, I've shot a few deer and hogs thru the shoulder with the 130 Speer, and the bullet did a fine job. And most any cup-and-core bullet would do the same on like-sized animals.
Others here will disagree, but I would look at using a premium bullst for breaking shoulders on bigger animals like elk and bears. Probably a partition or bonded bullet.....
