It was a private ranch of some 9000 acres near Bridgeville, California. The ranch owner was the outfitter and guide. The two bucks are exceptional, even for this ranch. I turned down several recommended shots to hold out for these.
The property is within 25 miles of the Pacific Ocean, so they should be homozygous pure blactails, not muley crosses as another poster suggested.
