Ok - seeing as how I've been traveling 100% since 1/1, am traveling 100% through mid-March, and have yet to start a fly, I'll go ahead and vote for 3/31 as the deadline.
Now, is it appropriate to announce what you're going to tie, or is it supposed to be a surprise?

P.S. There ain't no use bringing a fly rod to Haikou, China and attempting to catch anything in the surf. All that even the bait slingers were catching were baby pufferfish. Also, while I could easily cast 120' parallel to the beach, the best I could do was about 50' into the omnipresent headwind. And this with a 10'6" switch rod...
