I hit the river yesterday and today. I got 5 yesterday and 2 today. It has been very windy. Yesterday around 9:30 we had a mini hatch or chocolates (mayflies). I started paddling up river like mad, got above some fish and floated back. I threw #12 thorax flys in gray to them. I got two takes that the fish swam straight away and popped my line at the blood knot between the line and tippet. I got 5 trout I released. All were browns. Today it was very windy and there were no bugs. I got two rainbows on a black #12 wooly bugger. My buddy got two fish for every one I caught using the same gear. He has a knack for knowing where to drop a fly.
