I'm a pretty simple guy so all I would want would be a factory made 7600 35 whelen carbine. Top it off with a Leupold 2x7 scope and I would be quite happy. At some point I'll prolly just pick up a cheap 760 in 30-06 and send it JES and get it rebored and the barrel cut to 18" and recrowned. End up with the same rifle,just the poor mans way of getting there.
The 20" 760s handle better than the shorter carbines. I've had 760/35Whelens in 18.5" 20" & 22". The 20 is the best length overall.
