They come from all over the world to jump off of that bridge. It's one of the only places in the US where it is legal to BASE jump. Fun to watch, but not for me.

Re: 742 value

For me, it always seemed a 'step up' from a sporting semi-auto versus either the pump in Remington or the lever in Winchester, The Winchester Model 100 had problems functioning. Not sure about the 740, but give me a 760 any day as well as a Model 88 for that matter! Have both in .308 Win & all good! I think the Savages semi-autos of decades earlier design were more reliable, but that long recoil Browning system was the successful "contraption"! All the barrel needed was an external spring & I'd have felt like I was firing a Bofors! Just an admitted 'old man' take here! Best! John

Re: Will there be another civil war......

there will be a gooberment "crackdown on insurgents", but not a civil war. Some are pleased with the crackdown on the current protests because of misplaced loyalty. The danger they do not appreciate is once crack downs on Free Speech are tolerated any speech may be labeled subversive and unlawful.

Re: A couple of intresting rifles ar the show

I have one in 25-20. Never seen very many of either in my multi decades of collecting. Hung it all up over a decade ago and haven't been to a show or shop since! Of course the quality of shows nowadays in California, it was down to 'maybe' 30% guns & maybe 10% of those as even interesting. In respect of gun collecting, for me the "good old days", were just that! Crotchety old man... Best! John

Re: Hornady 55gr SP on deer?

They work just fine on whitetail deer. They will break a shoulder with no problem.
They are not what I would describe as an actual "varmint" bullet anyway. They function as simply a softpoint. THIS Ive killed a number of deer and just last week a couple Blackbuck in Texas with the Hornady 55 SP Shot placement is key. This again. I have killed several does, one smallish buck, and a pig or two with this bullet from my 527 in .223. Like most bullets it works fine-just have to put it in the right spot. Wound channel looks a bit like that of a .243. How true it is I do not know but I have been told that Joyce Hornady designed the bullet so it would work in a .220 Swift as a decent varmint bullet. In the slower cartridges like a .223 it acts like a regular softpoint.

Howdy folks,
Looking for a used set of .32 Remington dies. I'm hoping someone has a set collecting dust on a shelf somewhere instead of buying new.
Please let me know a shipped price to Canada.
Thanks,
Cory

Re: Anybody here use and like Sitka Gear?

Just got a pair of the Sitka Mountain Paints in the Open Country camo pattern design as I'm thinking they we're discounted 60% on the site. Great deal as I've worn them twice now Turkey hunting this week in mild nice weather and love them. Plenty of well placed pockets with zippers and the all important two way fly zipper. Even a quiet front pocket with rubberized quiet snaps on my hip for my phone as it keeps it handy for communicating with my son.
