Best "cheap" .22 lr is a Marlin model 60, IMO. Mine is as accurate as any out of the box 10-22 I've ever owned. And I love the tube fed version.
And I must be the only person in the world who's never owned a reliable 10-22 magazine. I hate em !
Not cheap at all any more, but my favorite 22 lr is still a Nylon 66. Tube fed, of course!
