I know that with pilot's logbooks and airplane logbooks, the chain of custody starts with at the time of an accident. But you have signatures and dates in the book to authenticate them PRIOR to the event.
Cellphones have dates for calls but no signature attesting to who made them.
Has any black letter law been established regarding their admissibility as far as you know?
