I think it just might be how you were raised. Cane syrup went on biscuits and maple syrup went on pancakes around our house but there was always raw honey in the pantry.
Lynn was the first to get it right. Steen's Cane syrup goes on biscuits and maple syrup goes on pancakes. The only exception being when they are buckwheat pancakes, cane syrup or real honey does seem to go with them better. We try to keep a gallon of Cane syrup and Honey on hand, and there is almost always at least a small bottle of maple syrup in the pantry.
