First "deer" rifle was a Browning A-bolt Medallion in .280 Rem, topped with a Redfield Widefield 3-9x. Killed a train load of deer and black bear with that rifle. Also killed a lot of antelope and a few elk with it. Today it generally serves as the loaner rifle and has accounted for at least a dozen deer for other people who have needed it. I actually shot my MT buck with it this year when my go to 300 RUM turned out to be shooting high and I didn't want to re-zero it.
