That is pretty neat, it gives you a connection to the poor guy that had to tote that near 9 pound rifle up and down the Alps.

I understand some of the Swiss rifle collectors contact the original owner, if he is still alive, although I'm not sure what all they'd say. "Hi, I have your rifle. If you want it back deposit xxx Swiss francs in a numbered account at..." .
