John was a real "bear for wear." He developed two cartridges that became (with belt added and shoulder contour changed) the .378 and .460 Weatherby. He also had a .50 version. I wish I could remember verbatim how he described the effect of shooting so many rounds PRONE. Just reading his dry, matter-of-fact description and imagining the effect made my head hurt.
