My wife's deer rifle. A SR in .270-08 I built in the early 80's. I bought the action from Jerry Fisher for forty bucks back then. I whittled out the stock and Don Klein did the metal work, checkered and blued it. Barrel by Bob Snapp.

My wife started hunting with it in 1986. Since then she has kept the freezer full of venison with this little rifle. I load 130 gr. Nosler Ballistic Tips down to 2600 fps. (Sad experience has taught me that they blow up on a deer's shoulder at 3200.) This is the most accurate pure hunting rifle I have ever shot.

In Michigan we hunt in deer blinds and, after thirty years of hunting, the gun is still in 98% condition. I regard it as a family treasure.
