The more I learn about cartridges the more I'm amazed that rounds like 7X57 and 6.5X55 that were developed in the early 1890's seemed to have gotten it right the 1st time around. The 6.5 Creedmoor and 7-08 are ballistic twins. We've come full circle and are now realizing there never really was any need to try to improve on the originals.



Agree...BUT

With the newer rounds you never have to worry about under powered factory rounds. Also, brass can be made from the super abundant, cheap and excellent military 308 brass. Last but not least the newer rounds seem to shoot circles around the older ones for whatever reason.

It pains me to say as the 7x57 is the most romantic and cool cartridge this side of the 375 hh
