There isn't a lick of difference in the performance of these two on elk at all reasonable ranges, given good shot placement and proper bullet construction in both.

If you want to eliminate the bullet construction variable, use Barnes TSX, TTSX or LRX in weights of 129-150 in the ..270 Win or 139-160 in the 7mm Rem Mag.
