CanadianLefty Campfire Regular C Joined: Feb 2004 Posts: 1,069	I have stock Model 70 rifles (soon to be custom) and have shot the 270 Win. cartridge extensively in the past few years and would not hesitate to it on Elk. This said, I'll be using my .300 Win Mag as an experiment for Elk this fall. This cartridge is more versatile (albeit generally heavier recoil, heavier rifle) for larger big game. I look forward to seeing how this plays out.
