Well I would take the 270, light rifle can be made. I was never much of a 300 Win Mag Fan, I shot a 300 Weatherby for a time. Now If I need more I just shoot a 338 Winnie. Some good 130 gr bullets in the 270 would be all you would need. Some 270's I have had shot 130's better than the 140's never bothered with 150 gr bullets in the 270 since the 130's did fine to better than fine, for me. There are just a bunch of very good bullets now a days, Its become such a moot point, I don't even know why I even posted on this one other than is a Wet rainy Saturday and I am bored. 270 280 30-06 they all pretty much do the job, and you would have a hard time telling the difference in the field. Same goes for 7mm RM , 300's and 338's on the game mentioned. Bigger stuff maybe then again maybe only on the internet.
