The quality of the stock is great. It just doesn’t fit me right. I think it’s the angle of my wrist/diameter of the grip/LOP when I’m shouldering the rifle. I can live with it, don’t hate it, just don’t love it.
I never really liked Melvin's stock either though.
Put me at +3 or +4. The FC stock feels like a warmed over Forbes stock. Feels like a square piece of wood with rounded off corners.
For me, best ever factory stock is the Kimber Ascent. At one point in time, I was trying to buy an extra Kimber Ascent stock to fit to a Left Hand Forbes rifle. Never could find a spare Ascent stock, so sold the LH Forbes rifle and the RH Ascent.
ETA: Even tho I am thinning the herd, if Kimber ever offered a LH Ascent in .243Win, 6.5CM, 6.5x55, or .270Win, I would buy one sight unseen.
