I correspond with a guy that lives in Alaska and does lots of hunting and knows other hunters that hunt a lot. They used a 6.5 Creed and the 143 grain ELD-X on a bunch of our Sitka deer, moose, one grizzly bear, black bears, caribou and etc. and have nothing but praise for the ELD-X as a good hunting bullet. It may be a cup and core bullet, but it is a very good cup and core bullet. So I can see no reason it would not be a good choice for the 270 Win. and if I lived state side and had a .270 I would try that bullet.

They are a bargain in my opinion and I bought two hundred of them for my 6.5 Creed for the grandkids to use.
