Oh! You are refering to the Battle of Algiers. The Algerian war was fought from 1956- 63. Col Marcel Bigeard wrote the book on counter insurgency warfare. It is pure urban myth that the French employed former “Nazis" to interrogate Falaga prisoners. They were good enough without having to use Former Nazis. See “Bigeard’s crevettes".
