Maybe the whole thing never was about Poland?
As far as the root of WW2 goes, a good part of it was the Treaty of Versailles IMO. Had France not raped Germany as they did after the end of WW1, Hitler may well have never been noticed at all in Germany, and he may never have been inspired to create the Nazi party. I could be wrong, but that is my opinion
