Since this is the Big Game Reloading section if you ever have a hankering for something both accurate, different and potent, try the Barnes 130 grain TTSX over 50+ grains or so of Ramshot TAC powder, and the primer of your choice. This load will yield better than 3100 FPS in any 308 barrel 20" or longer. As they say work up from below......
Shadow, That the load Barnes has on its website as the #1 powder for the 130 TTSX. What makes it a potent killer at way out there is the energy it carries at 300-400 yards...like 1400 or better at 300 yds, and still packing 2200-2300 velocity at 300. Set it up at 2.0" high at 100 you only drop between 5 and 6" at 300 yds, so a hold on center of chest will clip lungs/heart at that range. Killed buck at 320 yards at last shooting light doing exactly this...dropped in his tracks.
