Change oil and oil filter every 5,000 miles, or at least 1x per year. Air filter every 15,000 miles. Gas or diesel. Toyota or domestic. New or old. Easy to remember.
Currently over 200K miles on three vehicles (255K, 245K, 205K) with no obvious oil consumption, and no internal engine failures. Using whatever oil and filters my mechanic normally stocks. Nothing premium.
