Same with ours, sit in the car, a guy comes and takes your name and cell phone number. When they feel like dealing with your dog, someone comes out and takes them in. And the paying over the phone before the pet comes back is true. It's total bull$h!t. Some pets are very stressed going to the vets, and not being able to be with them just makes it worse.
Reading this thread, it does seem this same procedure is being implemented by some veterinarian authority.
